*Ding—*

Sitting in the waiting room with her eyes closed, Vivienne finally managed to force the system's voice out of her mind right at the last second.

For the past three days, the blaring error notifications had been driving her to the brink of a nervous breakdown.

A court official approached. "The trial is about to begin. Please take your seats."

Countless media outlets held their breath. As the heavy doors of the courtroom slowly swung open, all eyes turned to the entrance.

Escorted by her lawyer and two bailiffs, Vivienne walked to the defendant's stand.

"Vivi..."

Bianca's heart lurched. She gripped her cashmere blanket tightly.

Sensing her daughter's anxiety, Talia gently patted her back and whispered, "Believe in her."

Cyril and Alaric remained silent. Had their gazes not been locked onto her the entire time, no one would have guessed they cared at all.

Meanwhile, Stormhollow's major networks broadcasted the trial live.

Across Athelvia, decision-makers, schemers, and millions of ordinary citizens were glued to their screens.

The girl at the defendant's stand wore no makeup. Her eyelids drooped, making her look utterly drained of life.

Vivienne thought for a moment. "Yes."

Mr. Caine's heart skipped a beat. He jerked his head up to stare at her. Even the prosecutor seemed stunned by how easily she agreed.

Whispers broke out in the gallery.

"Order," Judge Gresham said, tapping her gavel.

The prosecutor pressed on, submitting the victims' files. "Your Honor, out of the eight men at the scene, three are dead and five are permanently disabled. Forensics and ballistics confirm that the shooter was not only highly skilled, but the weapon itself was heavily modified. It was compact, lightweight, and featured a specialized magazine that strongly resembles the standard issue of the 313th Unit's female division. Given the defendant's background, we have reason to believe the weapon was military property."

A dark glint flashed in Talia's eyes as the courtroom erupted into an uproar.

If the trial continued down this path, the consequences would be catastrophic. Not even the Ravenshire family could survive accusations of embezzling military assets.

Watching on his television, Frederick Whitmore smiled in satisfaction.
