Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 669

Talia set her teacup down and shot Dorian a sideways glance. Who was he putting on this show for? After all that talk, wasn't he just paranoid that Alaric's actions were meant to win over the third branch of the family?

"Alaric..."

Talia had barely started speaking when Alaric replied with a stoic expression, "You have a point, Dorian. But I already called Grandpa to ask for permission."

Even though Julian had hung up on him, the protocol had technically been followed.

"..."

The four men across from him sat in stunned silence.

Within the Ravenshire family, Sebastian Ravenshire's status was unshakeable. It was precisely because the family had birthed such an unmatched genius that the patriarch had stepped back early, exhausting himself to pave the way for Sebastian.

After Sebastian's death, Caspian suffered a devastating blow. No one could console him, and he withdrew from the world, isolating himself at Obsidian Estate for two years.

Who would have thought that today, he would gamble his legitimate son's crowning glory just to save Vivienne?

Dorian's eyes flickered. Come to think of it, Caspian's first trip out after those two years had been to Vindrell City.

Back then, the entire family assumed he had finally moved on. Instead, he unexpectedly brought back a young girl.

Only after Vivienne arrived did the patriarch slowly begin to smile again, finally stepping out of Sebastian's shadow as the family bounced back from its decline.

A sudden realization hit Dorian, and a dark glint flashed in his eyes.

Thank god that adoption statement hadn't gone public, or he would have been walking straight into a firing squad.

Sensing the tension, Lucian immediately tried to smooth things over. "We're all looking out for the family. Now that Vivienne is back safe, she didn't let us down."

Acknowledging the branches meant acknowledging the divide between legitimate and illegitimate heirs, guaranteeing the first branch would always dominate them.

Leander's face darkened. "What family? I doubt others see it that way. She just casually tossed out the word 'mole.' She's just looking for an excuse to start a war because the old man is coming back."

Dorian thought for a moment before turning to Talia. "Do you have evidence? You said it yourself, the defense was prepared by the lawyers. Your legal team has over a hundred people. With money on the table, anyone could have been bought. You don't suspect outsiders, but you instantly point fingers at your own family? What kind of logic is that?"

"If I hired those hundred people, I trust them," Talia shot back. "And like you said, money talks. I'm not bragging, but no one in Stormhollow can outbid me. As for the rest of you... well, I can't say the same."

Leander seethed. "You suspect us based on that alone?"

Of course, that wasn't the only clue.

Back at The Detention Center, Talia had asked Vivienne why she insisted on representing herself. Vivienne hadn't fully explained, only offering a wager: on the day of the trial, the prosecution would strike first, giving her no chance to use the pre-prepared testimony.
