Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 677

That night in Merriton City, Alaric hadn't been the only one whose feelings had been exposed. Cyril was in the exact same boat. If Vivienne officially joined the family, they would lose any chance with her forever. There was no way Cyril didn't realize that. So what was he scheming?

Unable to figure it out, Alaric shifted his gaze to Vivienne. He saw her staring unblinkingly at Cyril, her eyes filled with curiosity and intrigue. The special attention she was giving him caused a flicker of emotion to crack Alaric's usually stoic expression.

Leander had been about to agree with Cyril, but before he could open his mouth, Julian shot him a withering, mocking look. Leander snapped his mouth shut.

Unlike the others and their convoluted motives, Lucian seemed entirely indifferent. "We've watched these kids grow up. Whatever you decide goes, Dad."

Benedict's expression was grave. "Dad, I also think the timing is off."

Aurelia froze. She hadn't expected Benedict to object.

"Look at how much has happened in such a short time," Benedict reasoned. "Aurelia was targeted, Bianca was shot, and Vivienne was locked up. I think our top priority should be figuring out what's really going on behind the scenes."

Talia nodded. "Dad, I agree with Benedict. Vivienne's influence in Athelvia has already far surpassed that of the President's daughter. If we make a high-profile announcement about her joining the family right now, it will easily attract the wrong kind of attention."

Noticing Vivienne's disappointment, Talia quickly added, "How about this? Ever since Damien and I divorced, I still haven't changed Bianca's last name. We can take this opportunity to officially adopt Vivienne. From now on, whatever Bianca gets, Vivienne will get an equal share. In a couple of years, when the dust settles, we can host a grand Ancestral Induction Ceremony for her."

Even though Talia was also disagreeing with the registry plan, her words completely dissolved any hostility Vivienne might have felt.

"No!"

If she was adopted, she would still be his sister. How was that any different from being on the registry?

Before Caspian could respond, Alaric and Julian leaped in to object again.

"If you're worried about Vivienne being bullied in the future, Grandpa, I can give her half of my shares in the Ravenshire Group," Julian offered. "There's no need for an adoption!"

Stating the facts? Vivienne sneered. If he was just stating the facts, why couldn't he look her in the eye?

Caspian thought it over. "Talia's idea has merit."

Julian's eyelids twitched. With things having gone this far, what else could he say? Any further objection, and his true feelings would be completely exposed.

Alaric remained expressionless, staring silently at the tea in his cup.

Talia broke into a bright smile. "Since you approve, I'll get the paperwork started!" Both of her daughters would be officially hers now. Talia was overjoyed.

Vivienne smiled and turned to look at Talia.

In her previous life, she had died without ever truly becoming her grandfather's granddaughter. She had only managed to become half a Ravenshire by marrying the eldest grandson, only to be despised and thrown out by Alaric. If she hadn't awakened to her situation midway through, her loveless marriage to Alaric would have ended long ago.
