After leaving the courtyard, Jade's group went to meet up with Sienna, only to be hit with a massive curveball: Preston's group had absolutely zero interest in a joint party. Sienna had just gotten the door slammed in her face.
Clearly, smoothing things over was out of the question.
The group walked back toward their rooms along the lakeshore. Just then, they spotted Wesley wearing sunglasses, ordering the staff to set up a camping area. Everyone in their circle knew Wesley was Alaric's personal bodyguard, which meant Alaric had ordered this.
Lana shot Jade a look and remarked casually, "Are they going camping? Looks like everyone really does just want to do their own thing."
Jade had already been furious that Julian hadn't stood up for her. Seeing that he had claimed he "wasn't interested" only to immediately go camping with the others turned her face purple with rage. She spun around and sprinted toward the covered bridge.
"Jade, where are you going?!"
Lana looked panicked and was about to chase after her when Isolde grabbed her arm.
"She's probably going to throw a tantrum at Julian. We shouldn't get involved. We can talk to her when she gets back."
"But..." Lana still looked worried.
Isolde explained softly, "Don't worry. Jade isn't a child. It's not like she's going to get lost."
Lana looked genuinely guilty. "This is all my fault. I shouldn't have opened my mouth."
Isolde smiled but didn't reply.
Sienna, standing nearby, remained completely silent.
This was exactly why she hated mingling with these old-money heiresses. They relied entirely on their family legacies and lacked any real ambition, resorting to petty, low-class manipulation. To her, their schemes were pathetic.
