Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 717

There were about seven or eight girls in the hall, all part of Sienna's circle of political elites. The gloomy atmosphere weighed heavily on them, and they huddled together, whispering anxiously.

Isolde and Lana, the only representatives of the aristocratic circle, sat together near Aurelia Ravenshire.

Vivienne and Bianca Whitmore leaned against the windowsill, watching the torrential rain. The endless cascade of water reminded them of that fateful storm when they were twelve.

Sienna's elegant approach drew everyone's attention.

Cyril's fingers paused. He looked up at her, seemingly confused by the question.

Sienna spoke softly, "I heard from the commanders that lung infections can leave you with a chronic cough for the rest of your life."

Back during the shipwreck incident, Sienna and Cyril had been serving together in the naval fleet. When Cyril refused the recall order, she was the only one who supported his decision.

No one else understood why a man like Cyril would risk his life for military merits. But she saw the razor-sharp ambition hidden beneath his refined exterior. Before he left, she had urged him to return alive, no matter how hard it got. And true to their silent pact, he had kept his promise.

Because of that shared history, Sienna was confident that even if Cyril didn't have romantic feelings for her yet, he wouldn't reject her approach. No one in the world understood him better than she did.

Cyril's eyes curved in a polite, unreadable smile. "Thanks for the concern."

Sienna nodded, glancing toward the storm outside, her face etched with worry. "I wonder how Jade is doing. What do the kidnappers even want?"

She had hoped to spark a conversation, but Cyril offered no reply, returning his attention to his phone.

Sienna stiffened, then realized he was simply hiding his edge in front of the others.

The rain slammed violently against the window.

Vivienne shifted uncomfortably and stood up. Her time of the month had arrived with a vengeance, and she urgently needed to return to her room to freshen up.

The moment she lifted off the chair, Cyril looked up, as if he had eyes on the top of his head. "Where are you going?"

His question drew the entire room's gaze.

"..." Vivienne pointed toward her bedroom. "I need to grab something."

Sienna immediately chimed in. "You shouldn't go. We don't know what's out there. It's not safe."

"She's right. We really shouldn't split up right now." The girls, jumpy as frightened birds, chimed in to discourage her solo trip.

Their tone was relatively calm, laced with genuine concern rather than malice.

Vivienne's expression turned complicated. Just as she opened her mouth to argue, Cyril stood up. "I'll go with you."

Sienna was stunned, staring at him in disbelief. As an elite graduate of the military academy, shouldn't he despise reckless behavior that broke the rules?

Ignoring the stares, Cyril strode toward the door. When he realized Vivienne hadn't moved, he stopped and looked back at her.

"I'll come too," Bianca said, standing up.

Vivienne pressed her hands firmly onto Bianca's shoulders, pushing her back down. "You stay here."

The wind battered the window frames, tearing at the drapes in the stormy darkness. The thunder crashed, sounding as if it were ripping the sky apart.

"Whoosh—"

The toilet flushed, carrying the crimson water down the drain.

Vivienne placed a hand over her lower stomach, groaning as another wave of cramps hit her.

With a heavy sigh, she turned on the faucet, washing her hands while studying her reflection in the mirror.

Maybe she had brushed against death too many times, because she didn't feel a drop of fear right now. Instead, she felt a thrilling buzz of anticipation.

Drying her fingers, she took a deep breath, twisted the handle, and stepped out of the bathroom.
