Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 745

Splash.

Vivienne held her breath, slowly surfacing from the lake. She crouched by the shore, waiting in the darkness until she was sure the coast was clear before daring to climb out.

Prolonged immersion in the freezing water had left her palms pruned and wrinkled.

No, her stomach cramps were worsening. Her body couldn't handle staying out here much longer.

She had to figure out another way.

Vivienne carefully hid in the tall grass, curling her body into a tight little ball.

"That's weird. I saw her heading this way. Where the hell did she go?"

A dark figure suddenly stepped out from behind the crumbling wall, scanning the empty clearing. Swinging his rifle, he began violently smashing the nearby bushes in frustration.

The rustling of violently shaken branches drew closer. Vivienne's expression shifted, her heart leaping straight into her throat.

Just as the rifle was about to strike the bush she was hiding in, another voice rang out across the clearing.

"What are you doing?"

The voice was freezing and completely flat, yet it sounded young, slicing clearly through the chaotic roar of the rain.

Vivienne clamped a hand over her mouth. She didn't dare move a muscle, straining her ears to pick up every sound.

This was the closest she had gotten to the assassins. Maybe she could catch a clue.

The angry man scoffed gruffly. "Fuck this. We've been dragged around like dogs by a little girl all night."

The younger voice replied indifferently, "If she were easy to kill, she wouldn't pay this well."

Right then, a third, raspy male voice chimed in. "So what do we do now that we've lost her?"

Three of them?! Vivienne closed her eyes, biting the tip of her tongue to force herself to stay calm. Any sudden movement right now would cost her her life.

"Walk along the shore. She can't hide underwater forever."

"Dammit. When I catch her, I'm going to skin her alive."

"Cut the crap."

The three men splashed through the muddy grass, heading toward the lake.

Vivienne waited a moment. Hearing nothing but the rain, she slowly exhaled in relief. She was just about to move when she realized something and froze again.

Splash, splash, splash.

A series of hurried footsteps echoed through the clearing.

Vivienne's face tightened. She closed her eyes and went back to playing dead.

"Fuck! She's really not here! I swore I saw her crawl onto the shore right around this spot."

Viper glared furiously. "We actually lost her?"

Three trained professionals hunting down one little girl, and they managed to lose her?

This wasn't just a failure; it was a humiliating stain on their careers.

Stellan Shaw hadn't expected the target to be this difficult either. He glanced around and said coldly, "Get to The Observation Tower."

They were leaving!

Vivienne slowly opened her eyes, the breath she had just let out hitching in her chest once again.

Her... her period had leaked!

The rain-soaked grass was slowly tinting with a faint, unmistakable shade of pink.

Panic seized her chest, her heart hammering wildly.

It was so dark, and the rain was so heavy. Surely... surely they wouldn't notice.

Suddenly, the rain pouring over her head seemed to intensify.
