Jade wasn't faring any better. Hearing Kael scream nearly sent her into a faint. "Help! Help me, get it off me, there's a ghost on my back!"

Snapping out of his panic thanks to Preston's interruption, Kael felt a spike of pure rage. "Fuck! Vivienne, are you out of your mind?"

"Vivienne?" Jade, who had been holding her breath, looked bewildered. Hearing a familiar name, she turned her head.

Vivienne smiled and waved. "Hey."

Jade's soul slammed back into her body. Her adrenaline spiked, and she shrieked, "Vivienne, what is wrong with you? Do you have any idea you almost scared me to death?"

Vivienne couldn't care less. She looked Preston and Kael up and down. "It's pouring. What kind of shady business are you guys up to?"

"..." Kael shot a glance at Preston.

Meeting Vivienne's gaze, Preston offered a faint smile. "I was about to ask you the same thing. Why hasn't the Ravenshire family tucked you safely away?"

Vivienne ignored the pleasantries. "Are you heading to The Screening Room?"

Preston asked, "Did something go wrong on the Ravenshire end?"

Vivienne shot back, "Are you tricking this idiot into being bait to draw out the people in the safe room?"
