Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 769

Dorian met Cyril's gaze. "You figured it out. So, you were the one who killed him?"

Cyril nodded. "That's right."

He really had underestimated Dorian. The man had calculated every single move just to eliminate Alaric.

Everyone knew it was Cyril who had brought Pierce into The Pearwood Courtyard. If Pierce had successfully murdered Alaric, Cyril would have only had two options: atone with his own life, or murder Julian to silence the only witness and save himself.

Dorian frowned. "You just said everyone thinks there were only four groups of attackers. That means Caspian doesn't know."

"Correct," Cyril said. "It was pure chaos out there. No one paid attention to how a random hotel manager ended up dead."

Dorian's expression softened in relief. He remained silent for a moment before offering an explanation. "Pierce was a contingency I set up to ensure the mission succeeded, but I had absolutely no idea the rest of that chaos was going to happen."

"Even if you didn't anticipate everything, you definitely knew The Raiders had infiltrated the resort, didn't you?"

Dorian's face tightened, eyeing Cyril with genuine surprise.

Cyril let out a self-deprecating laugh. "If I had to guess, those pirates were specifically aiming for me, weren't they? You knew there was a threat at the resort, but you were afraid Grandpa would suspect you if Alaric was the only one who died. So you had Pierce let them in. If Alaric and I were both attacked, it would significantly lower the suspicion on you."

"With your skills, those pirates were never going to actually hurt you," Dorian countered.

What a ruthlessly cold justification.

Cyril simply smiled, dismissing it.

Dorian's face darkened. "Cyril, what is wrong with you? Other people might not understand my position, but surely you do. Alaric has suspected me for a long time. He doesn't have the power to touch me yet, but the moment he gains real authority, he'll settle the score. I had to strike first."

"I'm exhausted, and I need to sleep. You should leave, Father."

Dorian was instantly left speechless, staring at Cyril in complete disbelief.

Cyril stood up. As he reached the door, something seemed to cross his mind, and he paused.

"When I was on the battleship in Merriton City, the pirates demanded to trade me for the hostages. I was never afraid. I truly believed that if anything happened to me, you would soak Merriton City in blood just to avenge me. But last night... I finally realized what a pathetic joke I am."
