Bianca's eyes widened in realization. "Someone in the Ravenshire family sold you out to Amadis?"
Vivienne's face turned icy. If that was true, maybe The Raiders were also hired by someone within the family. Four assassinations in one night. If they had each orchestrated one, that meant four moles. And if the moles were working together... then everyone was guilty.
Vivienne looked down, tears prickling at the corners of her eyes.
If that was true, how devastated must Grandpa have felt in his final moments? He gave everything for this family, only to be dragged down to hell by his own blood.
"Vivi, what's wrong?" Seeing Vivienne's sudden emotional shift, Bianca gently patted her shoulder. "Don't lose hope. No matter how much fog is ahead, as long as we keep moving forward, we'll eventually find the truth. I'll always be right here with you."
With red-rimmed eyes, Vivienne swallowed the lump in her throat. "I won't give up. I will keep moving forward."
In this lifetime, she had to uncover the truth. She would never let those monsters drag Grandpa down into hell again.
And if the truth really matched her horrific theory, even if it meant turning her back on everything Grandpa had taught her, she would drag every single one of those bastards to hell with her.

A violent thunderstorm kept countless people awake deep into the night.
The Bayside Residence.
Leander sat dead still in his leather chair, staring blankly at Julian. "Repeat what you just said."
"Of the four hit squads last night, which one was yours?" Julian demanded.
Leander snatched the wine glass from his desk and hurled it straight at Julian's head.
Julian didn't even blink. The glass grazed past his ear and shattered against the white wall. Red wine exploded outward, the rich, intoxicating scent bleeding into the suffocating tension in the room.
"Do you have any idea what you're doing right now?!"
"I know exactly what I'm doing. But do you, Leander? Do you have any idea what you've done?"
