Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 773

Julian snapped back to reality, his eyes slowly locking onto Leander's face. "You knew I liked her?"

"What's so surprising about that?" Leander spat. "Did you really think you were doing a good job hiding it?"

"You knew, and yet you tried to kill her?"

"Damn right I did!"

"Why?"

Leander showed absolutely no remorse. "Because love makes men weak. If you want to stand at the top, you cannot have any attachments. I refuse to let anyone become a threat to your future."

"So you've known this whole time. Saying you were going to officially adopt Vivienne was nothing but a test?"

"Everything I do is for you!" Leander shouted. "Caspian values that girl more than his own life right now. Her entry into the Ravenshire Family Registry is practically carved in stone. If you do anything stupid, your life is over! How will you ever compete with Alaric then?"

Julian laughed, a twisted, mocking smirk pulling at the corners of his lips. "When did I ever say I wanted to compete with Alaric? What if I just want to burn out early in a blaze of glory? For me? You already drove my mother to her death for me, and now you want to do the same to Vivienne. You won't stop until I am completely alone in this world, will you?"

Leander frowned. "I've explained this to you a million times. The love between your mother and I just faded."

"If it just faded, then you should have let her go!" Julian suddenly exploded, his bloodshot eyes screaming with agony as he roared at his father. "Why would you tell a severely depressed mother that keeping herself alive was only burdening her son?! Why would you tell her that without her, Julian would be better off?!"

"You used those razor-sharp words to slaughter her, and you did it right in front of my face. Why didn't you just do it cleanly behind closed doors? Because you wanted me to hate you too. You wanted to rip everything away from me so I'd have no choice but to claw my way to the absolute top."

"But Leander, did you ever stop to think? Pushing someone to the absolute brink doesn't always create a bloodthirsty beast. Sometimes, it just creates a broken coward who never stands back up."

"You standing here, pointing a gun at your own head, is absolute proof that everything I did was right," Leander said coldly.

If Julian had pointed that gun at Leander, Leander would have never confessed, even if it meant taking a bullet.
