"Ahem," Caspian coughed, looking at Cyril with deep reluctance. "Vivi actually hit you?"
Cyril didn't try to hide it. He simply nodded.
Caspian's expression twisted into something incredibly awkward. He stared at the angry red marks on Cyril's face for a long time before forcing a stiff laugh. "She's been through a lot the past couple of days. She's upset. Don't hold it against her. I'll have a word with her later."
Dorian's eyes nearly bugged out of his skull. He had been waiting for Caspian to demand justice.
Have a word with her?!
Cyril played along flawlessly, nodding in agreement. "It wasn't her fault. I didn't handle the situation well."
"Good boy." Caspian nodded, looking incredibly relieved. He turned his authoritative gaze to the rest of the room. "Kids bicker. It happens. You adults need to stop overreacting and stay out of it."
Dorian was completely speechless.
Was the old man seriously lecturing him right now?
"You're absolutely right, Dad," Benedict agreed immediately, eager to shift the focus. He glanced toward the entrance. "That's strange. Where are Talia and Aurelia?"
Right on cue, Talia's bustling voice drifted in from the corridor.
"Careful! Gently now! Watch the wheels."
A moment later, Aurelia and Bianca walked into the room together.
"Grandpa."
"Grandpa."
Caspian looked toward the doorway. "What's going on out there?"
Aurelia and Bianca stepped aside, revealing Marissa and Tessa carefully lifting a wheelchair over the heavy wooden threshold.
Vivienne beamed brightly, waving at the patriarch. "Grandpa!"
Talia, looking effortlessly elegant in a pale teal dress, hovered protectively behind the chair.
"Oh, good heavens!" Caspian's face dropped. He immediately abandoned his seat of honor, rushing forward to help. "Why are you out of bed?"
Following his lead, every single person in the room immediately stood up.
