Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 802

Vivienne refused to back down, tilting her chin up in open defiance. Why the hell should she be afraid of him? It was all a bluff anyway.

Cyril looked down at her, his dark, unreadable gaze mapping the arrogant confidence in her eyes. A slow, dangerous smile curved his lips. He leaned forward, boxing her in, his towering silhouette entirely blocking the chandelier's light.

"What do you think you're doing?!" The alarm bells in Vivienne's head began screaming.

"Since you don't care anyway..." Cyril murmured, his voice thick with tension. "We might as well..."

His eyes suddenly turned predatory, locking onto her like a hook digging into flesh. He leaned down, aiming directly for her lips.

Panic flooded Vivienne's system. Her toes curled in sheer instinct. Ignoring the splint on her arm, she shoved hard against his chest.

"Cyril!"

At the last possible second, Cyril tilted his head. The kiss that was meant for her lips brushed softly against her temple, sweeping across her hair.

"Seems you care quite a bit," he whispered against her skin, a mocking edge to his tone. "You're such a novice. Why pretend to be a player?"

Novice?!

That struck a massive nerve. Furious, Vivienne threw her head forward, aiming a vicious headbutt straight at his jaw.

With his reflexes, dealing with her thrashing was like wrestling a toddler. He easily caught her and pinned her back against the pillows, their foreheads resting against each other.

His eyes were practically dancing with amusement. "My mistake. I'm the novice."

Seeing that arrogant, reckless gleam in his eyes only made her angrier. "Get off me."

Cyril hesitated for a moment before reaching down, grabbing her hand, and firmly pressing the hair tie into her palm.

"I know you're capable of handling yourself, but an extra layer of security is never a bad thing. Whatever game you're playing, you have to stay alive to win it, don't you?"

Vivienne hesitated, her grip loosening.

Cyril wrapped his large hand entirely around hers. "Are you afraid of being tied to me?"

Her heart skipped a beat. "Who says I'm afraid?" As long as she threw her morals out the window, what did it matter if they were tied together?
