Vivienne raised an eyebrow, tilting her chin up. "You don't need to suck up to me. It won't work anyway. I explicitly came here today to tear this place apart."
The amusement in Preston's eyes deepened. He nodded, walked over to the marble island, and poured himself a glass of water. As if remembering his manners, he looked back. "Thirsty?"
Vivienne turned her head away. "No."
Entirely unfazed, Preston took his glass and settled back onto the sofa.
Kael grimaced, leaning in closely to whisper. "This little brat is impossible. Even your charm isn't working on her."
Preston shot him a glacial look. "Get lost."
Kael shut his mouth.
"Knock, knock—"
A heavy knock broke the tension.
Kael signaled the manager at the door. Dexter immediately disengaged the electronic lock.
A moment later, the heavy-set enforcers marched into the room, dragging the three captives behind them.
Rowan instantly recognized his ultimate superior. He was about to grovel when Dexter spoke first, offering an incredibly sycophantic bow to Kael. "Boss, we brought them."
Gregory was entirely disoriented. He sneakily assessed the men in the room. He had assumed the mastermind behind a multi-million dollar casino would be an intimidating, grizzled kingpin. Seeing that it was just a group of rich kids, half his anxiety vanished instantly.
Kael stared the three of them down, then turned his attention to Vivienne. "They're all yours. Ask them whatever you want."
Only then did the three captives notice the girl sitting by the window.
