Even at this point, Gregory Shawcross stubbornly refused to face reality. Feigning calm, he sputtered, "Don't you dare touch us! This is Stormhollow. If you try anything, I'll call the cops!"
"That's right! I have proof of your illegal casino on my phone. When the police get here, you're all going down!"
Kael let out a dark chuckle. Was every piece of trash off the street bold enough to threaten him now?
Ignorance truly bred arrogance. Manager Rowan stood with his head bowed, his legs trembling so violently he could barely stay upright. He couldn't believe Gregory had the audacity to threaten the very devils who ran this place.
Without warning, a thug grabbed Gregory by the hair and drove a brutal elbow into his temple. Gregory's eyes rolled back, and he collapsed into a heap on the floor.
"Ah! Murder!" Sheila shrieked, throwing her arms around her unconscious husband. "Do you know who the Ravenshires are? I'll have you know my sister-in-law is the favorite maid of the Ravenshire heiress! If anything happens to us, she won't let you get away with it!"
Preston shot Vivienne a sidelong glance. "Drag them out."
"Yes, Boss."
Four enforcers grabbed the couple and hauled them away.
Dexter Holloway wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and delivered a vicious kick to Manager Rowan. "If you know something, spit it out! Do you have a death wish?"
Rowan's legs gave out, and he fell to his knees. "Boss, I swear I'm loyal to you! I only met those two today. I had no idea what they were up to!"
Kael glared at him, his silence radiating lethal intent.
Vivienne, looking entirely unbothered, asked, "You're the one who swiped her card?"
Rowan already suspected this young woman was someone terrifyingly important. Not daring to hesitate, he stammered, "Yes. But they brought the card to me. I didn't know they stole it from you, and I definitely wasn't part of their plan."
