Vivienne sat up. “Keep going. Why'd you stop?”
Aurelia grimaced. “Before your mother, he was married three times. His first two wives gave him two daughters, and the last one gave him a son. Stanford's romantic life has always been a complete mess. When he was sixty, he was caught on camera keeping a famous pop star as his sugar baby.”
Bianca wrinkled her nose in disgust. “He sounds like a filthy old creep.”
Vivienne's expression remained passive. “How is Stanford's relationship with Leland Kenyon's family?”
“Their financial interests are heavily tied together, so the two branches are very close. It's worth noting that Stanford's three kids are absolutely ruthless. When he tried to marry that pop star, his kids totally destroyed the relationship to stop it.”
Bianca scoffed. “Makes perfect sense. Stanford is loaded. Marrying a new wife at his age? His kids would never let all that money walk out the door. When the families meet, those three will definitely be there. You have to be careful, Vivienne. Don't let them trap you.”
Vivienne hummed in agreement, not saying anything more.
She rarely stayed this quiet. Finding the silence unsettling, Bianca exchanged a worried glance with Aurelia before asking softly, “What's on your mind? Don't tell me you're actually feeling soft for her?”
Her heart had died a long time ago. There was nothing left to go soft.
Vivienne smiled faintly. “I was just thinking... when will I be able to visit Vindrell City again?”
On the other side of town.
Serena and Isabella walked straight out of the Obsidian Estate and slid into the private luxury car Stanford had sent for them.
The driver was one of Stanford's trusted men. Usually, he was a massive snob who only kissed up to the elite. He had assumed Serena was just another gold digger fishing for a wealthy man, but seeing her walk out of the Ravenshire estate completely shifted his attitude. His smile turned sickeningly eager.
“Ma'am, should we head straight home?”
