Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 855

Outside the banquet hall.

Isabella wrapped her arms around herself, waiting by the elevators. She hadn’t genuinely come out to welcome Vivienne; she simply couldn't stand the suffocating atmosphere inside.

The elevator doors chimed open and closed, delivering wave after wave of guests. Almost everyone who stepped out let their gaze linger on her, including many relatives of the Garland family.

The stares made her skin crawl, but she had no one else to rely on. Serena was her only lifeline, and as much as she hated it, she had to endure.

"Why isn't she here yet?"

Vivienne was stunning. The moment she arrived, she would effortlessly steal all the attention, and these people would finally stop looking at Isabella with such malicious intent.

It was incredibly ironic. She used to despise the fact that Vivienne was prettier than her, even foolishly envying the way Vivienne hoarded Serena’s attention.

Little did she know, having a more beautiful puppet in the spotlight was exactly what had shielded her from so much misery.

"Excuse me, Miss. Please come this way."

Isabella blinked, looking at the event staff in confusion. "Are you talking to me?"

The man nodded. "The show is about to start, and the guests are waiting. Please hurry."

Isabella took a step back. "What show? You have the wrong person."

The man shot a look over his shoulder. Instantly, a group of burly men in black suits surrounded her.

Isabella's face dropped. "What do you think you're doing? I'm warning you, back off! I'm Councilman Kenyon's—"

Before she could finish, the man lunged forward and grabbed her wrists. "The money’s already been paid. It's too late to back out now."
