Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 143

"My mother?" Alexander was surprised. Why would Amelia recommend Kenneth to join the company?

After ending the conversation, he called Amelia and asked her. Only then did he learn that Kenneth was the son of her close friend. It seemed he couldn't do anything to him.

Alexander spent two days in the hospital. By the time he returned to the company, rumors about Isabella and Kenneth were already swirling. Everyone knew Kenneth was pursuing Isabella.

That put Alexander in a bad mood first thing in the morning. When he stepped out of the elevator, his eyes landed on a large bouquet on Isabella's desk. His expression darkened instantly.

After glancing around and seeing that Isabella wasn't there, he marched over, grabbed the bouquet, and tossed it into the trash can without a second thought. Just then, he looked up to see Isabella emerge from the pantry. She stopped where she was and stared at him coolly.

The atmosphere grew awkward, but it only lasted for a few seconds. Alexander lifted his chin and started accusing Isabella with righteous indignation, "Ms. Moore, you're a married woman, yet you're entangled with a male colleague. Don't you think that's inappropriate?

"The company doesn't ban workplace relationships, but ones that disrupt are forbidden. And frankly, this counts as cheating!"

Isabella glared at him icily, letting him ramble on before asking coolly, "Did whatever drug was in your system seep into your brain, Alexander? Is that why you're losing it now?"

Her words made the look on his face turn ugly, and he growled, "Say that again."

"You're overstepping and being unreasonable," she shot back.

Isabella strode to her desk, and her tone grew colder as she eyed the now-empty surface. "What gives you the right to throw out my things?"

"What gives me the right?" Alexander stepped closer, the faint scent of his cologne wafting into the air around them as he suppressed his anger. "You're my uncle's wife, even if it's just in name and even if it's a marriage of convenience! To the outside world, you're Mrs. Sinclair. What will people say about our family and company when they see you getting so close to another man?"

"Where's your proof, Mr. Sinclair?" Isabella raised an eyebrow, meeting his gaze without backing down. "When did I get close to another man? If we're talking about being close, isn't it you and I who've been closest lately?"

Josie was immensely grateful and quickly handed them to her.

Isabella waited a bit, intending to calm down before facing Alexander again. But before she could go to him, he emerged from his office, still looking stormy. His gaze landed on the bouquet on her desk, which had been tidied, and his expression grew even colder.

"Don't throw my flowers again!" Isabella quickly stepped in front of him, stopping him from acting when she read his thoughts.

Alexander stopped with his icy gaze fixed on the flowers. He snarled, "Who said you could get them back from the trash? Are you keeping garbage now?"

"Someone gave them to me, so it's up to me to decide whether or not to throw them. It's none of your business." Isabella shifted the bouquet behind her, as if she were guarding a treasure. "Stop staring at my flowers if you don't have anything else to say, Mr. Sinclair. You're disrupting my work."

"I'm disrupting your work?" He stepped closer, his fingers nearly brushing the petals before she blocked him with her hand.

His temper flared further when he caught the wariness in her eyes. "Are you deliberately picking a fight with me, Isabella? Why are you treating some lousy flowers from Kenneth Rowle like they're so precious?"
