Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 155

Theodore's voice turned cold. "Bella, aren't you coming over? Do you need me to carry you back?"

Seeing how frightened Kenneth looked, Isabella quickly grabbed Theodore's arm and gave it a gentle shake. "It's not that serious. He's a junior of mine. He's just a kid who doesn't know better. Stop scaring him."

Kenneth was at a loss. Isabella was speaking on his behalf, but he wasn't sure how to feel about it. It turned out she had always seen him as just a kid.

"Just a kid?" Theodore raised his pitch in surprise, glancing at Kenneth.

Kenneth found himself being stared at with such a dangerous look for the first time, and he immediately felt a wave of anxiety. Recalling Theodore's identity only made him even more nervous.

In the whole of Solara, who would be bold enough to compete with the head of the Sinclair family for a woman? Were they tired of living?

"Mr. Sinclair... I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was you earlier. What I said earlier was a bit rude... Please forgive me!"

Kenneth was cursing himself for what he had just said. He couldn't believe he dared to call Theodore old! He wondered if it was too late to apologize now.

"Alright, alright. Look at how you've scared him," Isabella said, then turned to Kenneth. "Hey, don't worry. You don't need to be nervous. He just looks serious, but he's actually a really nice person."

Upon hearing Isabella's words, the three men present each reacted differently.

Kenneth stood bewildered. That wasn't at all like what the rumors said.

Caleb looked around in confusion, wondering who exactly the "really nice person" was supposed to be.

Theodore, on the other hand, looked utterly pleased with himself, murmuring that his wife had just complimented him.

Isabella didn't care what they were thinking at the moment. She grabbed Theodore and said, "Alright, let's go. Let's head back and celebrate my birthday."

As she reached the doorway, she turned back and said to Kenneth, "Thanks for the birthday surprise today. See you at the office tomorrow!"

Once they got in the car, Isabella turned to Theodore and asked, "Didn't you say you'd be on a business trip today? Is this a surprise for my birthday?"

Theodore paused and said sincerely, "No, I didn't know it was your birthday today. I really was about to go on a business trip."

Isabella blinked. "So, how did you..."

Theodore replied, "I received a text saying that Alexander planned to confess his feelings to you today."

He spoke as he showed her the text message from the unknown sender.

Looking at the scenery outside, it seemed like they were moving farther away from the city.

Theodore gently pulled her into his arms and said softly, "There are still two hours until midnight. There's still time to celebrate your birthday. I hope it's enough. If you're tired, you can nap for a while."

She looked up, gently placing her delicate hand at the corner of Theodore's eye. She said with concern, "You're the one who needs rest. Look at you, your eyes are all red."

"Okay," Theodore said as he lay down directly on Isabella's lap.

She froze, then quickly adjusted her position to make him more comfortable.

Watching him fall asleep within seconds after closing his eyes, it all felt so surreal.

She often had trouble sleeping and would frequently wake up in the middle of the night. However, whenever she did, Theodore would always hold her tightly, providing her with a sense of security. This was the first time she had ever seen Theodore asleep.

"Caleb, could you please drive a little slower?"

Caleb glanced in the rearview mirror and was surprised to see that Theodore had actually fallen asleep just like that. Slowing down the car, he mused, "This is the first time I've seen Mr. Sinclair asleep in the car. Before, no matter how long he went without rest, he would never sleep. I've never seen him exhausted while working."

He then said, "Mrs. Sinclair, ever since you came into the picture, I've felt like he has become more human. I used to wonder if he was a robot."
