Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 157

Isabella couldn't quite remember how she got back to the inn. When she woke up, she found herself lying in a small, unfamiliar room. For a moment, she felt dazed. As the memories of the previous night flooded back, her face immediately flushed with embarrassment.

This was, without question, the boldest thing she had ever done in her life. She didn't even dare to recall the memory.

After all, it had all happened outside!

She had begged Theodore to get back in the car, worried that someone passing by might see them.

Mortified, she buried herself under the covers. If anyone had actually seen them, she would much prefer crawling into a cave and never coming out again.

Isabella was lost in her embarrassment when a large hand suddenly pulled her out from under the covers. She shrank back slightly as Theodore's low laughter sounded above her.

He was the last person she wanted to see right now.

Theodore coaxed, "Come on, you'll suffocate yourself."

Isabella peeked out from under the covers. She blinked and looked at him, her big, bright eyes full of accusation. The way she looked at him made it seem like the whole world owed her an apology.

Theodore quickly apologized, "I went too far last night. It won't happen again."

She didn't believe a word of it. While he usually kept his promises in every other aspect, when it came to sex, Isabella had long stopped trusting him.

A man's words in bed weren't worth believing at all, no matter how successful he was.

"I don't believe your sweet talk anymore. You should think about how to make it up to me," Isabella said.

"Alright, what kind of compensation do you want?"

She thought about it and realized she didn't really need anything. "Let's just hold off on that for now. I need to get back to work, and you'll have to have Caleb take me."

At least one thing Theodore told her was true. There really were no other buildings on this mountain apart from the inn, and there were barely any guests staying there. She didn't need to worry about anyone having seen them last night.

"Kenny, weren't you chasing after Ms. Moore before? What's your take on her now?"

Kenneth's voice came out thick with mockery. "Hey, what can I say? I'm just unlucky. Who would have thought she was that kind of person?"

Isabella frowned. He sounded completely different from his lively and cheerful self when he spoke to her before. Now, he sounded a lot like a jerk.

"She's got no self-respect," another sneered. "I heard she had slept with her former department manager, and when the manager's mistress found out, she started making things difficult for the other woman at work on purpose. But no matter how the two mistresses fight, they're still just mistresses, right?"

"She came to work this morning in another new car. I wonder which man she's hooked up with now. Kenny, you should be glad you didn't get fooled by her. Otherwise, well…"

"Please, I'd be sick to my stomach. Don't be fooled just because she's pretty. A woman like that isn't clean at all!"

Kenneth said with a laugh, "There are plenty of beautiful women out there. I don't need one like her!"
