Upon hearing that, the relatives who had been ready to plead for leniency instantly swallowed their words, too terrified to even make a sound.
Ethan's face turned pale, and he looked at Theodore in shock. He never expected Theodore to be serious! Not only was he expelling him from the family, but he was also sending him away for five years!
"Isabella! Uncle Theo! You can't do this to me…"
Before Ethan could finish speaking, several cops surged in through the door.
"Everyone, quiet down!" the officer in the lead shouted.
However, this was the Sinclair family. These people were used to looking down their noses at others and could not care less about the identity of the officers. They continued to make a ruckus.
"Did he really call the cops?"
"Is he really going to send Ethan to prison?"
"Let's see who dares to keep talking." Theodore's voice was not loud, but it instantly silenced the room.
Several uniformed officers walked up to Theodore with precise steps. One of them greeted him politely, "Mr. Sinclair, you called it in, right? We'll take the suspect now. If you need anything else later, just let us know directly."
Theodore nodded slightly. "Sorry for the trouble."
"Not at all, Mr. Sinclair," replied the officer.
After saying that, the officers walked up to Ethan, their attitude changing instantly. Their tone turned cold. "Mr. Ethan Sinclair, you're under arrest for illegal possession of a firearm and assault. Please come with us to the station for questioning."
Ethan panicked. He struggled backward, reaching out to grab the clothes of the people next to him, but they dodged him instinctively. He looked at Theodore with red eyes, his voice full of pleading. "Uncle Theo! I know I was wrong! I won't do it again! Make them leave! I don't want to go to the station!"
Theodore remained unmoved, his gaze glacial. He refused to waste another look on Ethan. "You made a mistake. Now, you have to pay the price."
As soon as he finished speaking, an officer pressed Ethan down by the shoulders and cuffed his hands behind his back.
"Let me go! You can't arrest me! I'm a Sinclair! I'm a Sinclair! Don't you dare!" Ethan struggled violently and yelled in a hoarse voice, but the officer did not loosen their grip at all.
However, Isabella's gaze was calm. When Theodore squeezed her hand, wanting to speak up, she secretly pinched his finger to hint at him to stay silent.
This was a battle between two women. There was no need for a man to intervene.
Isabella smiled faintly. She looked Amelia in the eye, unflinching, and asked in a deep voice, "Amelia, do you think a human life is insignificant?"
Whether a life was important depended on whether the person had value. This was the thought of most of the Sinclairs present.
Thinking it was one thing; discussing it openly was another. They all knew it'd be inappropriate.
The tension in the living room thickened instantly. People who had been looking down silently looked up at Amelia, waiting to see how she would respond.
Amelia's expression changed slightly. She obviously had not expected Isabella to be so direct.
She forced a calm smile. "Isabella, that's a harsh thing to say. We just want to know how you would've solved this matter. Since you're preparing to take the keys to the residence, we should understand your capabilities, right?"
