Theodore frowned. For the first time, his expression toward Isabella turned cold. He questioned her in a deep voice, "So that's why you jumped? Isabella, you—"

Alexander's nervous voice rang out in the corridor. He had been shouting all the way over. It was not until he saw Emma at the door that he confirmed Isabella was in this ward, and he walked over quickly.

Emma nodded to greet him, but Alexander did not have the time to respond. He rushed into the ward in a panic.

When he saw Isabella lying safely on the hospital bed, the worry on his face eased visibly.

He could not even begin to describe the sheer panic he felt when he received the message that Isabella had jumped from a building.

Theodore furrowed his brows, looking at Alexander with displeasure.

Isabella shook her head slightly and said, "I'm fine."

Alexander walked to the bedside, his nervous gaze sweeping up and down Isabella's body. When he saw the bandage on her foot, he reached out to touch it, but a hand extended and blocked him.

Alexander froze. Only then did he shift his gaze to Theodore.

Alexander had respected and admired his uncle since childhood. Yet, somewhere along the way, he had gradually come to view Theodore as a rival he needed to challenge.

The current Alexander was no longer the child who got nervous just seeing Theodore frown. He even raised his voice and questioned Theodore, "Uncle Theo, is this what you meant by taking good care of her?"

"Alexander, you're out of line," Theodore said coldly. His voice sounded devoid of emotion, but those familiar with him knew he was already angry.
