Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 176

Alexander and Theodore had essentially fallen out. Isabella felt a pang of guilt, believing she was the cause. This was not the outcome she wanted to see.

"Are you really going to force Alexander into an arranged marriage?" Isabella asked cautiously, looking at Theodore.

He had his head lowered as he peeled an apple for her. When he handed it to Isabella, her gaze fell upon it, and she froze completely. Honestly, it was the ugliest apple she had ever seen in her life. Theodore, who usually pursued perfection in everything, had somehow managed to peel an apple so terribly.

It was pitted and uneven. If he were not still holding the fruit knife, Isabella would have thought he had gnawed the peel off with his teeth.

Seeing that he was still holding out the apple, she accepted it reluctantly.

Theodore then answered her question, "When you're born into a family like this and enjoy the honor it brings, you must also bear its responsibilities. Many things are out of one's control, and arranged marriage is the same."

Isabella believed this to be the general truth, but she did not believe Alexander's engagement was unavoidable.

Their eyes met. Theodore sighed softly and said, "Yes, I'm doing it on purpose. If Alexander were to meet a girl he likes, I mean a girl other than you, I wouldn't force him. However, if he keeps his eyes on you… Isabella, I'm a normal man, and I get jealous too."

Isabella stared blankly into Theodore's eyes. There were fewer than three months left in their one-year agreement. It was only now that she realized she had truly fallen in love with Theodore.

When he said he would get jealous, a sudden impulse surged in her heart. She wanted to ask Theodore if he had fallen in love with her too.

But just as the words reached her lips, she did not dare to say them out loud. She severely lacked a sense of security. She was afraid that after asking, she would get an answer she did not want.

She was even more afraid that Theodore would remind her with a cold expression that they only had a contractual relationship and would separate when the time came. Theodore had always been a man of principle, and Isabella dared not gamble.

In the afternoon, Theodore went home to change his clothes. He would bring some fresh clothes for Isabella.

He had been gone for less than ten minutes when a middle-aged couple suddenly pushed open the door to Isabella's hospital ward.
