Cheated Once Cherished Forever: The Billionaire's Bride novel Chapter 182

"How's it going?" Theodore's voice was low and heavy. He hadn't slept in over a day, but he didn't look tired at all, except for the dark circles under his eyes.

Caleb replied, "They came prepared. We're still looking into it. It'll take some time."

A stack of documents lay before Theodore, all needing his signature. Emma had already organized them—routine forms he could just initial, and the critical, time-sensitive ones she'd set aside for his careful review.

"Mr. Sinclair, Mr. Zucker is here," Caleb said, glancing at his phone before looking up at Theodore.

Without lifting his head, Theodore acknowledged him with a grunt. "Show him in."

Moments later, a short, stocky man walked into the room. "Mr. Sinclair, good to see you."

Theodore looked up and gave him a polite nod before speaking. "Mr. Zucker, let's cut to the chase. How long do you think it'll take to wrap up this case?"

Matthew didn't look like much, but he was one of Solara's top attorneys, highly respected in his field.

"Don't worry, Mr. Sinclair," he reassured Theodore. "From the current findings, this should be resolved quickly. The other party's only goal was to tarnish your reputation. There's no solid evidence."

"I need this taken care of before my wife hears about it."

Matthew nodded. "Understood, Mr. Sinclair. We'll handle it."

Just then, Emma rushed in. Despite the urgency, her tone was steady. "Mr. Sinclair, there's a problem with the Milarky project."

Caleb's face changed immediately, his eyes darting to Emma in panic.

Theodore lifted his gaze, his brow furrowing as he waited for Emma to explain.

"There was an employee protest claiming we're behind on wages. A scuffle with security turned violent. Someone was knocked to the ground and is now in critical condition at the hospital. The project has been put on hold, and the key managers have been taken in for questioning, leaving no one to oversee it."

Matthew immediately understood and said, "The casino investigation hasn't been concluded yet. You could be summoned at any time, which means you can't leave the country for now."

Theodore stared at him in silence. After a moment, he sighed and relented. "Alright. When do you need to leave? I'll make the arrangements."

Theodore thought for a few seconds, then replied, "The sooner, the better."

Emma froze, staring at her in confusion.

Isabella's eyes were cold, a faint redness creeping up as if she was on the verge of snapping. She stared directly at Emma, her gaze cutting into her. "How did Margaret die?"

Emma stiffened, realizing she had been caught. The truth was out.

Isabella let out a bitter smirk. "Ms. Collins, you don't need to lie to me anymore. The police were just here ten minutes ago. I already know enough.

"Does this have anything to do with Theodore? I want the truth. If you won't tell me, I'll find out myself."

"No, no, Mrs. Sinclair, it has nothing to do with Mr. Sinclair. He's innocent! That casino is not his!"

Isabella kept her gaze locked on Emma, unblinking.

Emma rushed to explain further, her voice shaking. "Mrs. Sinclair, you might not believe me, but you have to believe Mr. Sinclair."

Isabella's voice was soft but cold. "He's got a record."
