Pinned down by two bodyguards, Alexander couldn't move a muscle. This was probably the first time in his life being pinned to the ground. As someone with so much pride, of course, he was furious to be humiliated like this.

But when another one of those bodyguards was about to rip Isabella's clothes off her, he pleaded loudly, "Don't touch her. You can do anything you want to me. Please don't touch her!"

Contrary to his expectation, his reaction only excited the other men even further. They roared with laughter.

"I didn't think that you were so devoted, Mr. Sinclair."

"It's a pity that we have to get the job done since we've been paid. We have to do whatever our boss asks us to do."

"Hurry up. Stop wasting time."

"I'll pay all of you double! Five times—no, ten times! Please just let us go," Alexander growled through gritted teeth.

Upon hearing that, the man leading the group stopped what he was doing and crouched down before Alexander, grinding the tip of his shoe against the back of Alexander's hand.

A mocking gleam filled his eyes. "Ten times? That's quite generous of you, Mr. Sinclair. But I'm sorry. Our client has paid us, and if we fail at our job, it's not their money they'll ask for—it's our lives."

Right after he said that, he raised his hand and ripped Isabella's blouse off her. "Hurry up. Get to work!"

Alexander widened his eyes. He gave his all to break free sideways, disregarding the fact that his wrists were bleeding from the friction against the ground from being pinned down. He yelled, "Come at me! Don't touch her! Or I'll kill all of you!"

Nevertheless, his struggles were in vain as two burly men held him down. A plethora of emotions swirled within Isabella when she saw him like this. She genuinely never imagined him going to such lengths to plead with others on her behalf.

"Alexander…" Only when she uttered his name did she realize that her voice was trembling. She was also on the verge of tears.

Perhaps it was this voice of hers that gave Alexander a sudden burst of energy to forcefully free himself of the burly man to his left. He jabbed his elbow backward, hitting the burly man right in his rib, causing him to cry out in pain and let go.

Before the other bodyguard realized what was happening, Alexander pounced on the man who had pulled Isabella's blouse off her. He held the man's wrists in such a tight grasp that the joints in his fingers turned white.

Redness filled Alexander's eyes, making him look like a predator that had been forced into a corner. He roared, "I said, let go of her!"

That man was shocked by Alexander's sudden viciousness. Yet, he pushed through with a cold scoff. "Still trying to be a hero, are you?"

As he said that, he lifted his leg to give Alexander a kick in his stomach.

After seeing that they had all gone, Alexander slowly pushed his hands against the floor to rise to his feet. He was still bleeding from his wrists, and his face was bruised from the number of punches he took.

Even so, he couldn't be bothered with his own injuries. He turned around and rushed over to Isabella. He reached out and gathered her torn blouse, carefully putting it back around her.

Nevertheless, her blouse was already torn. Embarrassed, she placed her hands over her chest to cover herself up a little.

Upon noticing that, Alexander removed his jacket and placed it around her. In an extremely hoarse voice, he asked, "Are you alright? Are you hurting anywhere?"

When Isabella saw how concerned he was for her even though he was in such a disheveled state, she could no longer hold back her tears. She shook her head as she choked out the words, "I'm fine. But you… You're bleeding so much…"

Alexander forced an unnatural smile. "This is nothing. Isabella, you're ugly crying. Does this mean that you're worried about me?"

Isabella froze. She lifted her eyes, only to find her gaze meeting his. He was completely beaten up while she looked pitiful after being scared out of her wits.

But at this very moment, the door to the private room was pushed open once again. A few people entered with Theodore in the lead.
