Claimed by the Crown Heir novel Chapter 103

She was finding it harder and harder to read Benedict's attitude.

Was he just overwhelmingly trusting of his nephew, or... did he genuinely have zero interest in her?

If they actually tied the knot down the line, how could they ever grow to love each other when he was this aloof?

Or perhaps... he actually preferred men?

Halfway through the meal, she stood up and said lightly, "I'm going to the restroom."

After coming out of the restroom, she didn't return to the private room right away. Instead, she found an open window to get some fresh air.

"Be smart about this. Keep Mr. Howard happy, and your grandmother's medical bills will be fully covered."

A hushed male voice drifted over.

A man dressed in a club manager's uniform was leading a slender young girl in her direction.

The girl had a luminous complexion and large, expressive eyes that tilted up slightly at the corners, making her look exactly like a fragile doll on display. Her faded t-shirt, simple jeans, and white sneakers looked completely out of place in this high-end setting.

As the two brushed past, the girl timidly glanced up at her, a fleeting look of awe flashing in her eyes.

Vanessa raised an eyebrow, watching them push open the door to the room where Benedict was seated.

A short while later, the manager stormed back out with the girl, looking completely humiliated.

"Mr. Howard isn't interested. Go home."

"But you said you'd pay me a few hundred bucks whether it worked out or not."

"I said that? I don't remember."

"You definitely said it!"

The manager looked her up and down. "If you really want to make money, I've got other avenues. As long as you drop the innocent act, I guarantee you'll make thousands a day."

"What do you mean?"

The manager leaned in and whispered something.

All the color instantly drained from the girl's face.
