Claimed by the Crown Heir novel Chapter 113

Eleanor strolled down from the upper floor.

She wore a subtle, moon-white jacquard dress with a matching fringed shawl draped casually over her shoulders, her steps light and her aura thoroughly elegant.

She wasn't dripping in jewels, yet her innate poise and grace completely overshadowed any flashy display of wealth.

She walked over and sat down next to Benedict.

"Mrs. Howard, we finally meet!" Elaine greeted her enthusiastically, her face plastered with a wide smile.

Eleanor gave a cool nod.

Her gaze swept over Elaine impassively, a fleeting trace of distaste flashing in her eyes at the sight of the older woman's tacky, excessive jewelry.

Elaine's smile stiffened, and she didn't dare push the conversation further.

"And who is this?" Eleanor's gaze landed on the bright and perfectly styled Giselle.

George quickly introduced her. "Mrs. Howard, this is my second daughter, Giselle."

"Why didn't Vanessa come with you?"

Eleanor wanted to see the woman who had saved her son and kept him so captivated.

Word was that Vanessa's mother had vanished, prompting George to marry Elaine early on, who then gave birth to a daughter and a son. Fortunately, George treated his eldest daughter decently, so she hadn't suffered too much hardship.

Giselle smiled as she explained, "Vanessa just joined the company as a Vice President, so naturally she's been a bit tied up."

The underlying implication was clear: Vanessa didn't care enough about this family dinner to show up on time.

Eleanor picked up her teacup and smiled. "It's a good thing for young people to be driven. To step right into a VP role upon returning shows her abilities shouldn't be underestimated. She clearly has her father's full support."

Giselle's expression froze, entirely caught off guard by Mrs. Howard's refusal to play into her trap.

"Yes, Vanessa has been incredibly smart and academically gifted since she was a child. She just recently secured the exclusive agency rights for Vittini."

Whenever he spoke of his eldest daughter, George's voice brimmed with undeniable pride and relief.

Eleanor's smile never wavered. "She sounds quite similar to Ace. It seems the two of them are a match made in heaven!"

Julian cast a surprised look her way.

This was the same woman who had vehemently opposed the match not long ago, yet now her attitude had done a complete one-eighty.
