Claimed by the Crown Heir novel Chapter 164

She picked up the handwritten promise note from the table and tore it to pieces right in front of him.

It was as if she were personally crushing their ridiculous, cheap past.

"No..."

Lucas reached out to grab it, but it was too late.

He could only watch helplessly as the pieces fluttered into the trash can, never to be put back together again.

His eyes were bloodshot, looking as pathetic as an abandoned dog.

"I have a boyfriend now. He's very territorial and doesn't like me tangling with my ex. I suggest we never cross paths again."

Vanessa stood up and headed for the door.

Just as her fingers brushed the handle, Lucas suddenly grabbed her from behind, hugging her tightly.

"How could you be with another man? How could you just throw me away and abandon everything we had?" He buried his face in her neck. His cold tears seeped into her collar, but Vanessa felt nothing but absolute revulsion.

She struggled fiercely, but his arms were like iron clamps, squeezing her until she could barely breathe.

After a moment of fighting, Vanessa's fury reached its peak.

She raised her foot and slammed the heel of her stiletto viciously down onto his dress shoe.

The moment Lucas gasped in pain and loosened his grip, she spun around and slapped him hard across the face.

"What's done is done, and wrong is wrong! There's no room for regret here, so stop clinging to me and save yourself whatever shred of dignity you have left!"

But Lucas grabbed her hand and pressed it against his own face.

"Hit me! As long as it makes you feel better, you can hit me as much as you want!"

It seemed he hadn't absorbed a single word she'd said.

The frustration in her chest solidified into ice, and her eyes grew dead and cold.
