Claimed by the Crown Heir novel Chapter 56

"Fine. I'll trust you one last time. But right now, you are going to apologize to your sister."

Giselle balled her hands into tight fists. "I'm sorry, Vanessa."

That obedient?

Vanessa hid her surprise.

Since when had her sister become so capable of swallowing her pride?

It was honestly a bit impressive.

"Wait outside. I have more to discuss with your sister."

"Understood."

Giselle shot Vanessa a vicious glare before storming out.

"Vanessa, has Arthur Howard contacted you yet?"

"Not yet."

Vanessa walked over and gestured for him to sit on the sofa.

As George sat down, she elegantly began preparing a pot of tea, her movements practiced and fluid.

The fragrant steam curled into the air.

She poured him a cup first before pouring one for herself and taking a slow sip.

George took a sip of his tea. "Your brewing skills have really improved since you left three years ago."

Vanessa lowered her gaze, staring at the tea leaves floating in her cup, her long lashes masking her emotions.

During her three years away from Sterling City, she had worked tirelessly to perfect her cooking and become the ideal supportive partner for Lucas.

Because Lucas loved tea, she had secretly studied the art, even taking lessons from a master for a month.

Every time he worked from home, she would brew a fresh pot and sit quietly by his side.

Looking back, it was deeply ironic, though she supposed the skills hadn't been entirely useless.

"If you like it, I'll make it for you more often."

George watched her calm, graceful demeanor, his eyes turning distant.

"You're looking more and more like your mother..."

"Do I?"

"Yes. Very much."

"Have you found any clues about how she disappeared all those years ago?"

She knew George had never stopped looking for her biological mother.
