"Lucas, you bastard! I hope you rot, and I hope you never have another child as long as you live!"
Lucas's expression remained entirely unbothered. He coldly ripped his shirt from her grasp and watched without a shred of pity as the doors to the operating room swung shut.
Since Vanessa refused to raise this baby, he would simply wait until she forgave him, and then they could have a child of their own.
Only Vanessa was worthy of bearing his children!
...
Max had repeatedly warned her that a lady needed to maintain her poise and leave a dignified impression on a man.
But Vanessa simply couldn't suppress her intense curiosity. She slipped into the empty office across the hall, just wanting to sneak a single glance at the legendary man so she would know what to expect tonight.
After what felt like an eternity, the doors to the president's office down the hall finally swung open.
Her eyes went wide, locking onto the doorway as she subconsciously held her breath.
Suddenly, a shrill voice practically exploded right behind her.
"Vanessa, what the hell are you doing in my office?!"
Giselle strutted in on her high heels, instantly spotting Vanessa acting suspiciously by the one-way glass.
Seeing Vanessa completely ignore her, Giselle marched over and violently grabbed her shoulder, her tone dripping with venom. "I'm talking to you, did you hear me?"
Vanessa scowled, irritatedly slapping her hand away. "You're so annoying. I didn't know this was your office."
She had just picked a room with a good vantage point to admire Alistair's face. Who would have guessed she'd blindly walk straight into Giselle's territory?
Giselle crossed her arms, raking her eyes up and down Vanessa in utter suspicion.
"Don't tell me... you're trying to steal my client files?"
Vanessa couldn't be bothered to entertain her nonsense. She immediately whipped her head back toward the hallway. A tall, impeccably tailored silhouette had his back to her, shaking hands with George.
