24. ALEX

“I want a list of all the tenants in the building,” I growled into the phone. “I don’t give a fuck about your privacy policy or the law. If you want me to keep making ‘generous donations‘ you will do as I say.”

I paused, listening to his stuttering for a few seconds.

“I expect the list waiting in my email in two minutes, or else.”

Ending the call, I leaned back in the chair and frowned at the door in front of me. My eyes darted to the clock and then dropped to my phone on the table.

There were still ten more minutes to go before I needed to make my hour check–in.

I picked up my phone and dialed Val’s number. It rang and rang until it went over to voicemail. Frowning, I redialed, but the same thing happened.

My heartbeat increased as panic filled me.

Had something happened? We talked earlier and he said everything was fine, but that was nearly two hours ago.

I jerked to my feet, grabbed my jacket, and hurried out of my office. My phone stayed glued to my ear as I hurried across the lobby to get to the exit.

“Answer your fucking phone you idiot,” I growled.

“Mr Wyatt!”

A glance over my shoulder made me stop. Stevens jogged closer and slowed when he reached me.

“I need to get home,” I told him before he could utter a word.

“Yes, sir. I’ll get the car.”

I gestured for him to hurry and focused on my phone again.

Opening my text messages, a new one I had received earlier, but ignored, caught my attention. I opened it. The text messages that were sent to Daisy couldn’t be traced.

We had no fucking idea who it was, but we knew that someone was watching her.

I sucked in a few deep breaths to try and calm the fear filling me.

It could be anyone.

It could be because of John.

Despite his reputation with the public, he had a lot of targets on his back. Daisy was placed in danger once before because of him, it wouldn’t be a surprise if it happened again. He didn’t give a fuck about her. If he did, he wouldn’t have sold her to a pack that was known for abuse.

Two dead omegas, and one who mysteriously disappeared only five months ago.

It wasn’t easy finding out what pack he had sold her to, but I pulled a few strings and did some more

blackmailing to get answers. According to my informant, John owed them money as well.

John made an agreement with them after they threatened to kill him.

I was really fucking starting to hate the guy the more I learned about him.

“Home, sir?”

My head snapped up to find the car parked in front of me and Stevens waiting with the back door open.

I nodded at him as I climbed into the car.

Once I was seated, I called Valiant again. He thankfully answered on the second ring.

“Val,” I growled. “You tell me to check in and then you don’t answer your phone! Is everything okay?”

“Sorry. Yeah.” He paused. “Hold on,”

The call ended, making me frown. My phone rang a second later. Why the hell is he video–calling me?

I answered the call and raised my arm to level the phone with my face more.

For a few seconds, the screen was black before Val’s face appeared.

“What’s going on?”

“We’re okay. I’m sorry I took so long to answer. We’re a little preoccupied.”

“Preoccupied with what?”

Valiant turned the phone around and moved forward. It showed the door of the nest and then moved deeper into the room. The bed was next and then he stepped around it, showing me something that made the air lock in my throat.

Daisy was stark naked and a squirming mess. She had her hands buried in Elias’s hair and her legs wrapped around his face as he ate her pussy. I nearly jumped out of my skin when she moaned.

My eyes snapped to the front of the car at the same time as my hand shot out to press the button for the partition to roll up.

“Condoms?” I growled. “Do you think condoms are effective enough?”

Val didn’t answer me. The phone dropped, showing me his bare feet as he walked out of the nest. When he was inside Daisy’s room, he raised the phone again.

“Look, I don’t really care about your obsession with protection at the moment. If you’re on your way home, turn around and go back to wherever you were, because I’m not going to allow you to ruin something so important for

us.”

Valiant ended the call before I could utter another word.

I pressed the intercom button, ready to order Stevens to turn the car around, but the words got stuck in my

throat.

I actually wanted to be there. I wanted to be part of it. I wanted to be there when she discovered how amazingly mind–blowing sex could be.

But I was scared.

Removing my finger from the button, I leaned back in the seat and stared out the window.

“Are you joining or not?” he asked me.

I could see the struggle in her eyes. It was all too much too soon. I should have stayed at the casino.

Fuck, I messed things up.

When Daisy didn’t answer, I leaned down to press a kiss to the corner of her lips.

“Have fun,” I whispered before I straightened and walked out of the room.
