It was like I had my own personal nurse.
I loved how attentive she was. I loved the way she looked at me as she took care of me.
I was now more sure than ever that she was the perfect omega for us. Now I just had to try and figure out how to make her see that. The courting gifts didn’t seem to be helping.
A sigh fell from my lips as I watched Daisy move around the kitchen. Elias had been teaching her to cook and she had been getting good at it, although she still needed to work on a few things.
My eyes dropped to my phone.
There had been no word from Aiden yet.
It hadn’t been easy to make the decision to agree to Aiden’s plans, especially when it required placing Daisy in danger.
The plan was simple, but there were still too many loopholes. They needed to be able to ensure Daisy’s safety
before we went ahead with it.
I wanted John to rot in hell. I wanted the bastard to get out of our lives so we could move on.
Daisy’s exclamation of pain made me snap out of my thoughts. I paled when my eyes locked on the blood dripping on the floor. Getting to my feet, I hurried towards her as fast as my crutches allowed me. But just as I reached her, her legs gave way beneath her.
Dropping my crutches, I caught her before she could hit the floor. Which was a mistake. I stumbled, trying to keep the weight off my broken leg. My lower back hit the sharp edge of the island, making me hiss in pain.
A sigh fell from my lips when I managed to steady us. I was half standing, half leaning against the island to keep my balance.
“Daisy.” I lowered my head until my face was inches from hers. “Daisy.”
She was out cold.
The blood caught my attention again. Muttering a curse under my breath, I reached for the dishtowel and wrapped it around her finger to stop the bleeding.
Daisy’s head rolled against my shoulder. A low moan fell from her lips. I made sure that her bleeding finger was out of sight when her eyes fluttered open.
“Alex?”
“I got you,” I muttered. “You had a little accident. Do you remember?”
Daisy squeezed her eyes closed. “I cut my finger.”
“And then you passed out.”
A moan of embarrassment fell from her lips. “Sorry.”

“No need to apologize, baby girl. Do you think you can make it over to the couch? You need to keep pressure on your finger to stop the bleeding. I’m going to grab the first–aid kit and then bandage you up.”
“D–do I need stitches?”
“Don’t know until I get a closer look.” I gripped her hips. “Think you can manage?”
She nodded.
Taking her free hand, I wrapped it around her finger and then pushed her back slightly.
“Don’t look at it,” I ordered her when she started lowering her eyes. “I’m not in the position to carry you, baby girl.”
“Sorry.”
I watched her to make sure that she made it to the couch safely before I leaned down to pick up my crutches. Elias always made sure that all the rooms in the penthouse had first–aid kits and I had never been more thankful for that.
Daisy had her eyes squeezed shut when I took a seat next to her on the couch. She was still pale but at least she was conscious.
Opening the box, I took everything I needed out and then reached for her hand. I carefully removed the towel and inspected the damage closer. The cut was about an inch long but not that deep so thankfully Daisy didn’t need any stitches.
“This is going to burn a little,” I warned her.
Daisy nodded.
I hesitated a moment before I pressed the alcohol wipe to the cut.
She sucked in a sharp breath but remained silent.
After cleaning the wound, I covered the cut with a band–aid.
“All done,” I said.
Closing the box, I placed everything else on the table next to it but made sure that the blood wasn’t in sight.
Her eyes slowly opened and then locked on her finger. “Thank you.”
Sitting back, I dropped my head against the back of the couch and sighed. It could have been worse.
“Are you sure that you’re feeling okay?” I asked her.
“I’m fine.”
I pulled her onto my lap to get a better look at her, but she squirmed, trying to climb off.
“You’re leg.”
“My leg is out of the way. Now sit still Daisy–girl so I can make sure that you’re okay.” She instantly stilled. “

Good girl.”
A shudder raced through her body.
Daisy stared at me as I studied her.
“Do you want me to get you some water? I’m sure we can find you a chocolate somewhere.”
“No.” Pressing her hands to my shoulders, she scooted off my lap. “I’m taking care of you.”
“You’ve been doing a good job baby girl, but you just fainted. I need to make sure that you are okay.”
“I’m fine.”
Cupping her cheek, I slid my hand down to her neck and tugged her lips to mine. I kissed her slowly until her body melted against mine. Daisy was the first to pull away and frown at me.
“I’m making you a sandwich.”
“The sandwich can wait a bit, don’t you think?” I pulled her lips to mine again but before I could kiss her, she turned her head away so my lips brushed her cheek instead.
“You need to eat so you can take your pills. The doctor said that it’s important for you to drink it every day at around the same time.”
Daisy climbed off the couch but stumbled.
My hands shot out to grip her hips to steady her. Before she could protest, I pulled her onto my lap and guided her face to the crook of my neck.
“Just relax for a few more seconds, baby girl.”
Her body slumped against mine. I smiled when Daisy turned her head and pressed her nose to the crook of my neck. She sniffed me, making my smile widen.
Lowering my head, I pressed my nose to her hair and sucked in a breath. She smelled like apple shampoo and something else.
“Are you still taking your suppressants?”
Daisy nodded. “Erika said that I needed to keep taking them for two more weeks. It’s how long first heats usually lasts.”
“Your second heat will be easier and hopefully I would have managed to talk you into joining our pack before it happens.”
“You won’t,” she whispered.
“Really? I’m a very determined alpha, baby girl,” I growled. “Giving up is not in my blood.”
“I don’t understand why you want me,”
“You don’t? Shall I show you?” I asked her.

Daisy remained silent.
I dipped her back. Ignoring her gasp of surprise, I pressed my face to the crook of her neck. Before she could push me away, I parted my lips and licked her skin.
Her hands shot out to grip my shoulder but she didn’t push me away. I nipped at her skin and pressed open- mouthed kisses up her neck. Until finally I reached her mouth. Her lips parted under the pressure of mine, her tongue instantly slipping into my mouth.
Groaning, I sat up and guided her legs to either side of mine so she straddled me.
Daisy broke the kiss, protest rising on her lips, but I kissed her again to silence her.
I wrapped an arm around her waist to pull her body closer to mine.
A gasp slipped from her lips when her pussy came in contact with my hard cock.
Breaking the kiss, Daisy blinked at me.
“I can think of something else you can do to take care of me, baby girl,” I whispered against her ear. “Do you want to take care of your alpha?”
Daisy instantly nodded.
“I want to feel your lips wrapped around my cock.”
“Your leg,” she whispered.
“I don’t need my leg to fuck you,” I growled.
Her eyes darted between mine, searching for something. Whatever she saw made her scoot off my lap.
I sighed, relaxing back against the couch when she fixed the pillow on the coffee table and reached for my leg. After making sure that it was settled comfortably, she took a step back and stared down at me. Her teeth sunk into her bottom lip.
“I feel better,” she said softly. “I’ll finish your sandwich.”
“Okay.”
My lips twitched as I watched her hurry back to the kitchen.
Daisy paused, staring down at the contents spread out on the island. Sucking in a deep breath, she closed her eyes briefly and then got to work again.
I smiled as I watched her move around.
Watching her was my new favourite pastime. Especially when she wore those high–waisted jean shorts and one of our t–shirts. She liked walking around barefoot, I noticed.
I wanted her to be comfortable. I wanted her to see the penthouse as her home because soon, it would be her home.
What can I do to make her see that she’s the perfect omega for us?
