Claiming their Omega (Suzi de Beer) novel Chapter 7

  1. VALIANT

Daisy isn’t in her room.

My eyes snapped up from the newspaper. What do you mean she’s not in her room?

Don’t fuck with me Val,Alex growled. I checked the nest and the bathroom. She’s not here!

You think that she left?I frowned. Why would she leave?

Because John told her that she would be staying for two weeks, not a fucking month.

Letting out a sigh, I closed the newspaper and neatly folded it before I placed it down on the table. He was angry, and angry Alexander made stupid decisions.

Maybe she just went for a walk,I suggested. Is her stuff still in the room?

He either ignored me or didn’t hear my question. What if she’s meeting him somewhere? What if they are making plans for her to feed him information about us?

It was a possibility, I silently agreed, but very unlikely. I get the feeling that Daisy dislikes John as much as we do. If she felt anything-

She lives under his roof,Alex interrupted.

Exactly.I sat up. We can use her to get information about John. Things we can use to blackmail him until he pays us back.

Alex frowned. It won’t work.

Why not?

She was scared shitless last night when she got here. Daisy has no control over her fear which gives her away. She needs to learn better control of her emotions.

She’s an omega,I muttered.

I’ve met omega’s with better control of their emotions than her.

Movement from the corner of my eyes made me turn my head. There she stood, the omega that was currently the topic of our conversation. Behind her stood Elias, looking as pissed off as she did.

Where the hell have you been?Alex exploded when he spotted them. You don’t fucking leave without telling us!

Daisy’s eyes narrowed. I’m sorry, I wasn’t aware that I was a prisoner.

Until John pays me back, you are!

She blinked at him and then stormed off. A moment later, her bedroom door slammed shut.

I pushed my chair back and stood. Was that necessary?I asked Alex.

I’m not going to risk John bailing out of paying me back,he hissed.

He won’t,Elias said before I could. It doesn’t mean that you have to be an asshole.

What’s that?I asked, nodding to the bags he held.

Daisy asked me to take her home so she could pack a few more of her stuff. His lips twitched. It’s about a month’s worth of clothes and a few of her things. I told her she could decorate the room any way she wanted for the duration of her stay.

I told her that yesterday and she refused.I glared at him when his smile widened. Give me that. I’ll take it to her room.

He held out the bags wordlessly, making me growl. I expected him to argue with me instead of just handing them

over.

What was he up to? More specifically, where had they been?

I shook the questions away as I knocked on Daisy’s bedroom door. I have your bags,I called.

You can come in.

I moved the bags to one hand and then pushed the door open. The chaos that greeted me made me suck in a breath.

I was fucking happy that she was taking us up on our word and making the room more comfortable for herself. If I didn’t know that it was just a temporary agreement, I would have thought she moved in.

You said I could.

My eyes located her standing in the center of the chaos. I did.

Is it too much?

I didn’t like the tone of her voice at all.

There is nothing wrong with it.Entering the room, I placed her bags on the bed and turned to take it all in.

There were new sheets on the bed, a different colour with swirly patterns. The matching curtains were folded neatly on the bedside table. New books had been placed on the bookshelf along with a few small ornaments. The lamps on the bedside table had been changed as well.

All of this while Elias, Alex, and I were talking in the kitchen.

Can Ican I use the nest?she asked hesitantly.

I wouldn’t have shown the room to you if we didn’t want you to use it,I told her.

Oh.Colour flooded her cheeks. Sorry.

I forgive you, this time.

Daisy didn’t smile back. Hurrying over to the bed, she zipped open the bags I had placed down on the bed. My lips twitched when she pulled out fairy lights.

I want to put these up around the room and the nest, she told me.

I nodded. Do you need any help?

You want to help me?

I wouldn’t have asked, Daisy.

It justmaybe you’re a nice guy and offered your help, but silently you’re hoping I’ll decline your offer.

I stared at her with narrowed eyes. Pretty certain I made a good first impression the first time we met, but now I

wasn’t so sure. Had someone done that to her before, offered help but didn’t mean it?

What do you need me to do, petal?I asked her.

Daisy’s eyes darted over my face and then around the room. My eyes locked on her mouth when her teeth sunk into her bottom lip.

You can help me with the lights if you want. Her eyes darted over me from head to toe. You’re tall.

Do you know whose taller?I smiled, heading towards the door. Alex!I called. Get your tall ass in here. Daisy needs your length.

When I turned back, Daisy was staring me with wide eyes and parted lips.

Why did you do that?she hissed, taking a few steps closer, only to freeze as her eyes snapped away from mine.

I glanced at Alex over my shoulder before I moved toward the bed. She needs some help hanging the lights,I told him. In the nest and in here.

Alex’s eyes narrowed, and his lips parted, but Elias appeared behind him, and gave him a little shove into the

room.

Of course, Alex will help you, flower,Elias said. He’ll do it to apologize for being an asshole to you.

With a growl, Alex stormed into the room, grabbed the lights from the bed, and disappeared into the nest while muttering under his breath.

Are you helping Elias?I asked him.

He glanced at Daisy and then shook his head. I have some work to do,he said before he walked away.

I raised an eyebrow in question at Daisy, but she was suddenly busy unpacking the rest of her bags.

Something happened between them, and I wanted to know what. If I played my cards right, Daisy would be telling me by the end of the day.

I underestimated the omega.

Despite actually being an omega, she was completely different from all the omegas I had met in my lifetime. Sure, she was short and curvier too. She was shy, but she certainly had a pair of balls.

I loved watching her stand up to Alex.

The tension between the two of them was running high. For some reason, they disliked each other, but there was an attraction there.

Despite the arguing, when Daisy told him to do something, he would do it when she wasn’t looking.

I’d caught Daisy checking him out more than once. Her body was betraying her, but none of us said anything. Her scent deepened as she watched him move around the room, following her orders.

Sometimes I would feel her eyes burning into my skin, but when I looked, she was busy with something else.

The plan had been simple when I met her at John’s dinner party, but the plans were starting to change.

I wanted to set her up with Elias, but maybe, just maybe, Daisy was the omega for all of us.

I tilted my head to the side and watched her as she watched Alex. Her back was pencil straight, her arms wrapped across her chest, and her chin tilted up slightly. But the moment Alex reached up to fix something she pointed to, her eyes dropped to his ass.

I smirked.

After a lot of arguing, Daisy agreed that it would be best to hang the lights around the bed. If it was on the walls, the curtains surrounding the bed would block it all out. With the position it was in now, it decorated the bed in a soft glow.

There, are you fucking happy now?Alex snapped, stepping away from the bed. “I have work to do. Val can help you with everything else.

Thank you.

He was out of the room a second later without acknowledging that he had heard her.

Don’t mind him,I said softly. He got out on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

She nodded, avoiding eye contact. Thank you. I can do the rest myself.

I hesitated even though it was clear she wanted to be alone.

Daisy-

Don’t make excuses for him,she interrupted me. He’s a grown man who has been taught manners.
