Ditched the Cheater, Pregnant by Mr. Righ novel Chapter 19

A chill washed over Quinn, a cold dread rising from the pit of her stomach. Chase had done this disgusting thing, treated her like a commodity, and given her to Julian. And Julian, who looked so respectable, was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He knew she was married, but he still tried to assault her.

Quinn wasn’t sure what had happened. But she remembered the embraces, the kisses, and his strong hands on her waist. And now, she was naked in his bed. It was obvious what had happened.

Julian returned to see a look of fury and despair on her face.

“Clothes,” he said, placing a bag at the foot of the bed. “Change into these. We need to talk.”

Quinn took a deep breath, steeling herself, and yelled, “Get out.”

Julian looked at her for a moment and turned and left, closing the bedroom door behind him.

Quinn didn’t hesitate. She ripped the IV needle from her hand, pressed down on the spot for two minutes, and then got dressed.

She opened the door to find him standing right outside. He was so tall that she had to tilt her head back to look at him.

“We need to talk.”

“There’s nothing to talk about,” Quinn said, her face a cold mask, trying to suppress the anger and helplessness churning inside her. “Let me go.”

In front of a man this powerful, talk of rights of calling the police was a joke. It was a cruel reality, but that’s how the world worked. The rich and powerful lived outside the rules. It wasn’t fair, but it was reality.

“You seem to have some misunderstanding about last night…”

“Don’t joke about her,” Julian said coldly.

“Alright,” Zeke said, a little intimidated but still cheeky. “Someone’s a bit sensitive. But if you’re so devoted, why would you get slapped?”

“Get out!”

Zeke got out. Julian was clearly in a bad mood after being slapped, and Zeke wasn’t going to stick around to be the target of his

anger.

On his way down, he ran into Chase, who had been locked up, completely clueless about what was going on. Seeing Zeke, he rushed over, asking, “Mr. Croft! Have you seen Mr. Dixon?”

He couldn’t find Maddox anywhere, and Quinn wasn’t answering her phone.

Zeke looked at him with utter contempt. A man who could sell his own wife? What kind of man was that?

“No.”

“That’s strange,” Chase said. “Why did the party end so suddenly? Did something happen?”

He had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach.

Zeke just smiled, “Don’t ask so many questions. You should just go.”

He left the phrase “May God have mercy on you” unspoken.

After leaving the yacht, Quinn realized she had nowhere to go. The house she shared with Chase wasn’t a home. After what he ha done, she couldn’t go back there. And she couldn’t face her parents like this.

The world felt so big, yet there was no place for her.

Finally, she called Lucy. The phone rang seven or eight times before she answered.

“Quinn! What’s wrong? Is something wrong?”

Quinn sniffled, “Lucy, where are you?”

“I’m still out of town on a business trip,” Lucy said, her voice full of concern. “Are you crying?”

“Lucy, can 1… can I stay at your place tonight?”

“Quinn, what happened? You have to tell me!”

“When you get back, okay?”

“Don’t joke about her,” Julian said coldly.

A lump formed in Quinn’s throat.

“Quinn, what happened? Talk to me!” Lucy pleaded.

“Lucy, can I… can I stay at your place tonight?”

“Of course! Sure!” Lucy said quickly. “You know the code. Just go. Why are you even asking?”

“Okay.”
