Chapter 329 You’re My First Love

“Everything here was made by your own hands. How could I ever give them away?” Julian said. “This is the best Christmas present I’ve ever received.”
Quinn looked surprised. “You… you don’t think it’s silly?”
She’d assumed Julian had seen every luxury imaginable.
Her handmade gifts felt almost cheap by comparison.
But time had run short, and she’d had no idea what else to get him, so she’d made something herself.
She hadn’t expected him to react this way.
“Silly?” Julian said. “Not at all. I love it.”
Quinn let out a quiet sigh of relief. “Good. Do you really want all of them? They’re for your cars. Do you even need that many? Maybe I could give some to Lucy-”
“No,” Julian said firmly. “And don’t make any more for her, either.”
Quinn had to hold back a smile, her heart fluttering. “Okay.”
Julian immediately worried he’d sounded too demanding.
“I didn’t mean it like that…”
“I know,” Quinn said. “I won’t give them to anyone else. Just you.”
That simple sentence made Julian light up.
“This must have taken you forever,” he said, gazing at the little charms. He was delighted, but he hated the thought of her tiring herself out. “Does your hand hurt?”
Quinn shook her head. “It’s fine. I’m used to it.”
Back in college, when she’d had no extra money, she’d sold handmade crafts to get by.
Julian took her hand and pulled her down to sit beside him. “I love them, but don’t make so many next time. It’s too much work.”
“It wasn’t hard,” Quinn said. “As long as you like them.”
Julian stared at her for a moment, then quickly looked away.
If he kept looking, he would kiss her.
Quinn tucked her hair behind her ear. “Um… about what happened online… you handled it?”
Julian nodded. “I wanted to talk to you about that. People were spreading lies. Don’t believe any of it. 1 don’t have a fiancée. And you… you’re my first love.”

The words “first love” made Quinn’s cheeks burn. “I didn’t believe them.”
“My family and Clara’s family are old friends, so you might run into Clara someday. But I barely speak to
her.”
Quinn nodded.
Whatever Julian told her, she trusted him.
Somehow, Julian had a way of making people believe him completely.
At his position, he had no reason to lie.
Julian held back the urge to pull her closer and switched to another topic.
The more they talked, the more they found they had in common.
They chatted about travel, global events, oil disputes, and technological progress.
Neither of them had expected to have so much to talk about.
Julian had worried his topics were too dry–most girls weren’t interested in politics or military affairs.
But Quinn had long been curious about traditional clothing from around the world, which led her to learn about different cultures and histories.
Before they knew it, it was already late afternoon.
Julian got a call, checked the time, and stood up.
“It’s getting late. I’ll go make your dinner.”
Quinn hurried to say, “If you have things to do, you can leave. I’ll be fine on my own.”
“Just listen to me.”
Julian gently ruffled her hair and headed into the kitchen.
Quinn had no choice but to follow him inside.
Julian took out the prepared ingredients and started cooking.
The dishes weren’t complicated, and there wasn’t much food since it was just for Quinn.
He cooked for just over half an hour before he had to leave.
