Now she felt embarrassed about it.

She would’ve been fine if he hadn’t mentioned it.

But he had to bring it up again.

That one spontaneous hug had already used up all her courage.

She couldn’t bring herself to do it again.

Julian lowered his arms and chuckled softly. “Didn’t drink any wine at dinner?”

“I almost never drink,” Quinn said.

“I’d rather not,” Quinn said.

She knew her own limits all too well.

Julian looked at her. “Scared?”

Quinn nodded straight away. “Yeah.”

“Is it because of what happened last time…”

“Don’t say it,” Quinn quickly cut him off, changing the subject. “Have you eaten yet?”

“I did.” Julian said. “But I’m kind of hungry again.”
