Quinn said, “I got together with him after we divorced. What happens between us is none of your business.”

Quinn found this bitterly laughable.

Quinn repeated firmly. “My life is none of your concern. Chase, leave me alone from now on and don’t contact me again.”

came to pick you up.”

He knew Quinn was visiting the Lane family today.

He’d been too worried she’d be treated badly to focus at the office, so he’d come early to get her.

He’d arrived just in time to see Chase pestering her.

He was glad he’d come when he did.

Chase tensed up the moment he saw Julian.

Even Lucy was afraid of Julian, though they were blood-related.

Chase and Julian were distant relatives, far more removed than Lucy was.
