Chapter 363 A Light in the Dark
Either way, they were together now, and he would show her his love every day.
There was no need to make her feel guilty over things that had long passed.

“Yeah, a long time ago,” he said. “But I was busy building my career back then… We only ended up together by some twist of fate.”
He didn’t say much, but Quinn’s heart was racing.
She never thought the boy who had slipped into her memory all those years ago was actually Juliani.
Even less did she imagine she would end up with him, years later.
This revelation shocked her even more than dating someone as powerful as him.
As Lucy would put it, that boy had been Quinn’s secret crush.
Naturally, Lucy had never known about him.
Quinn had never told a soul.
She had thought that boy would stay tucked away in a special corner of her heart forever.
Yet here he was, holding her in his arms.
The odds of something like this happening were slimmer than winning the lottery.
And yet it had happened to her.
How could I be this lucky? Tears welled up in Quinn’s eyes.
Julian panicked. “Why are you crying? Don’t cry.”
Quinn clung to him, unable to hold back her surging emotions any longer, and began to sob louder.
Julian fumbled to comfort her, patting her back gently.
It took a long while for her to calm down.
Julian sighed helplessly. “What’s wrong? Why the tears? It hurts me to see you cry.”
Quinn sniffled and spoke, “I guess my life hasn’t been kind to me so far. But meeting you must have used up all the luck I’ll ever have.”
Julian said, “We’re both lucky. For me too. Quinn… being with you took every bit of luck I had.” –
“You don’t understand…” Quinn mumbled into his shoulder. “Back in that alley, you were like a light in the dark to me. You burned yourself into my heart. I’ve never been able to forget you.”
This was a wonderful surprise for Julian. “Really?”

Quinn no longer hid anything from him. “Really. I wanted so badly to know you back then. But you were like an angel sent to save me, and then you were gone. When I was with Chase… I always thought he reminded me of you. His height, how gentle he was…”
Julian put it together. “So you were with him because of me?”
“I knew deep down the one who made me feel something was the boy in the alley,” she said. “It took me years to realize I didn’t love Chase. I just clung to the little warmth he gave me. It wasn’t until I met you that I finally understood what love is.”
Julian stroked her back softly. “I know. Quinn, I love you too.”
His voice was calm, but his heart was swirling with emotion just as fiercely as hers.
The realization that he loved her, and she had loved him all along, left him stunned.
He felt regret, frustration, even bitterness.
Why wasn’t I braver back then? If I’d taken one more step, we might have been together far sooner.
But in the end, their story had a happy ending.
He had her now.
Whatever lay in the past could stay there.
What mattered was her present, and her future-both of which were his.
From this day on, he would love her properly.
It was never too late.
Julian held her close, a deep, quiet satisfaction filling his whole chest.
It was perfect.
