Chapter 387 Sweet Company While She Creates

“You’re too kind. Your aunt has such amazing presence,” Quinn said with a smile as she looked at the photo. “She’s so sharp and confident. I’m not sure she’d really like traditional styles, though. I don’t think a gown would suit her.”

In the picture, the woman was wearing a tailored suit, and she looked incredibly powerful.

Quinn studied the photo more carefully. The woman’s facial features really did resemble hers, she had to admit.

“That’s exactly why I want to get her one-I want to surprise her,” Zoe said. “I have no idea what else to get her. She already has everything.”

From Zoe’s explanation, Quinn learned more about the Jinn family.

Her aunt was a daughter of the main Jinn family in Voss City. For Zoe and her relatives, that branch was the head of the clan.

When Zoe’s side of the family had first moved to Lakeshore City and built up their business, they’d relied heavily on the main family’s support.

“On paper, it’s a gift for an elder. But we barely see each

her twice a year. Honestly, it’s just a way to stay on their good side. They have way too much influence in Voss City.”

Once Quinn understood the situation, she agreed to help Zoe.

When Julian got home from the office, he found Quinn sketching designs.

He walked over, leaned against the desk, and glanced down. “A

gown?”

a few quick strokes, she’d drawn a stunning, elegant woman.

Quinn was a talented artist. With Quinn looked up and kissed him on the cheek. “Yeah. Zoe’s aunt is having a birthday, and she wants her a custom gown as a gift.”

“Her aunt?” Julian asked. “From the main Jinn family in Voss City?”

“You know them?” Quinn said. “Yeah, Zoe said she’s a really strong businesswoman.”

Julian didn’t have much contact with the Jinn family. A few years earlier, they’d been competitors on a project, and he’d come out on top.

But the Jinn family was based in Voss City, and their business focus was completely different

He always showered first when he got home. He patted Quinn’s shoulder. “Keep it up.”

By the time he came out of the shower, Quinn was still sitting at her desk.

“Stop working for a while,” Julian said, sitting beside her and putting an arm around her waist, break.

“I can’t. I have another order to finish, so I need to work overtime on this.”

“Why did you take it, then?”

“It’s Zoe’s first time asking me to make something for her. She’s my friend, and I couldn’t say no.”

“It’s time for dinner,” Julian said. “Let’s eat first.”

Julian was often busy, so he’d hired a private che to prepare their meals at home.

The two sat down at the dining table, but Quinn was still distracted.

Julian served her some food, then tapped her lightly on the head with his fork. “Hey, focus.”

Quinn jumped a little, set down her fork, and stood up. She hurried straight to her studio.

Julian had turned the largest room in the house into her personal studio.

It had floor-to-ceiling windows, a huge worktable, and the most comfortable desk and chair he could find.

Julian shook his head helplessly, set down his own fork, and followed her.

Quinn had clearly hit a creative streak. Her hand didn’t stop moving as she sketched.

Julian didn’t disturb her. He just stayed beside her, keeping her company.

When Quinn finished her draft and made a few small adjustments, she looked up and found Julian staring at her, not blinking.

She rubbed her neck. “What are you looking at?”

“Looking at my girl,” Julian said, reaching over to massage her neck for her. “You look so beautiful when you’re working.”

Quinn blushed a little. Then she suddenly remembered. “Did you finish eating already?”

She’d left halfway through dinner to work.

Julian took her hand. “No. I waited for you.”

Quinn felt a rush of guilt. “Why didn’t you just eat without me?”

“Eating alone is no fun.”

Luckily, it was warm outside, so the food hadn’t gotten too cold.

The two fed each other bite by bite, finishing their meal in sweet contentment

It was a good thing no one else was around-they would have been overwhelmed by how allectionate they

were.

But someone was about to show up and winess it anyway,

Zeke called, saying he was coming over.

Julian was not happy about it. “What do

you

want?”

“I need to talk to you!” Zeke sounded frustrated. “Or should we meet somewhere else?”

Julian never wanted to go out once he got home. He just wanted to spend time alone with Quinn.

“Can’t you just say it over the phone?”

“Are you even my friend anymore? You get a girlfriend and suddenly you don’t care about your best buddy?”

Julian was still on the phone when Quinn gestured that she was going back to work.

Julian nodded, then spoke into the phone, “Fine. Come over.”

Zeke said, “Have some drinks ready.”

“You’re planning to drink?” Julian frowned. “When are you leaving?”

“You’re already asking when I’ll leave before I even get there?”

Julian said, “Come if you want, but there’s no alcohol.”

Zeke arrived quickly, and he already smelled of liquor.

Julian opened the door, looking disgusted. “Where haye you been drinking? The slippers are in the cabinet. Get them yourself.”

Zeke grabbed a pair wordlessly, walked inside with/a dark look, and sat down on the sofa. He looked around the room before asking, “Where’s Quinn?”

“She’s busy.”

Just as he finished speaking, the studio door opened.

Quinn had heard the noise and come out to greet him.
