Ditched the Cheater, Pregnant by Mr. Righ novel Chapter 400

Chapter 400 A Strange Stare

But Zoe wasn’t afraid of her at all.

The Jinn family’s main branch was based in Voss City, and Zoe’s family was only a side line.

Still, not every family in Voss City was doing well.

Only Zoe’s aunt and her uncle Mark had really made it big.

Zoe’s aunt and Mark were full siblings.

Faye’s father was Mark’s cousin.

Where Mark got the lion’s share, Faye’s family only got scraps.

Zoe’s family, though, had built up their success on their own.

So why did Faye think she could strut around in front of her?

Zoe wasn’t about to put up with her attitude.

Zoe had heard whispers before-Mark and his wife had no children, not since their only daughter was taken away as a baby.

Faye’s family just assumed they’d inherit all of Mark’s wealth one day.

Disgusting.

Zoe hated people like that.

They never worked for anything, just waited to leech off others, and acted like they deserved it.

She’d heard Faye’s grandfather, Mark’s second uncle, had been close with Mark’s father-they were real brothers.

But that still didn’t give them the right to greedily eye someone else’s fortune.

If Zoe were in Mark’s position, with relatives like those vultures waiting for her to die, she’d donate every penny to charity before letting them have a cent.

Zoe couldn’t stand Faye. And Faye hated Zoe even more.

Zoe was only from a side branch, yet somehow, after moving to Lakeshore City, her family kept gettina more successful.

Not long ago, Zoe had been just a small-town girl. Now her family was wealthier than Faye’s

Faye could barely stand it.

What made it worse was that Zoe had the attitude of a proper lady.

Chapter 400 A Strange Stare

Faye had set her heart on several things, only for Zoe to take them right out from under her.

And Faye never knew who to complain to.

Worse still, Zoe had three older brothers who spoiled her rotten.

Faye’s own brother was nothing but a good-for-nothing who only knew how to party and waste money

The worst part of all?

Zoe wasn’t even blood-related to the Jinn family.

Some random adopted girl was now acting like she was better than Faye.

It made Faye’s head hurt.

She liked to think she was the real noble lady of the family.

Bickering with an adopted girl like Zoe was beneath her.

But she couldn’t help it-Zoe always wore nicer clothes and fancier accessories than she did.

“Like we’re lucky to run into each other,” Faye snapped, stepping forward.

“Seeing you makes me sick. Some hillbilly who found a few fancy feathers and thinks she’s a swan.”

She started to leave, then shot Quinn a hostile glare.

Who in their right mind would be friends with Zoe?

Then she froze.

Her gaze locked onto Quinn, and she couldn’t look away.

Zoe noticed her staring and snapped, “What? Never seen a pretty girl before? You call yourself a lady, but you don’t even know how to mind your own eyes?”

Faye snapped out of it, glanced at Quinn one more time,

and surprisingly said nothing. She just turned and left.

Zoe clicked her tongue and rolled her eyes at Faye’s back. “Weirdo.”

Quinn had felt uncomfortable under that stare, and she didn’t care for Faye one bit.

Zoe said, “Don’t pay her any mind. She thinks she’s the main character in some drama, destined for

greatness.”

Quinn nodded.

“She was staring at you probably cause she’s jealous you’re prettier than her. Zoe said.

“Serves her right.”

Quinn smiled. “She’s not as pretty as you, anyway.”

Zoe lit up at once. “Really? You mean it?”

She still had a childish side, spoiled and never quite growing up.

But Quinn really did think Zoe was prettier than Faye.

She nodded. “I mean it. Your eyes, your nose, your mouth-all nicer than hers.”

“Awesome!” Zoe said. “Quinn, I like you more and more!”

Quinn saw her as a little sister and smiled. “Let’s finish eating.”

After they parted, Quinn wandered around for a while before heading back to the hotel.

Julian owned several properties in Voss City, but they were only staying two or three days, so they’d booked a hotel room.

As she stepped into one elevator, another one opened.

A group of people stepped out. The man at the front was tall and handsome, in his forties but with a straight, strong posture and the charm of a mature gentleman.

His face was cold and stern, with almost no expression.

He strode out of the hotel with long, confident steps.

By then, Quinn had reached her floor.

She went inside. Julian wasn’t back yet.

She showered, changed, and lay on the bed looking at her design sketches on her phone.

When she heard the door open, she jumped up, slipped on her shoes, and hurried over.

Julian stood in the doorway, holding his arms open for her,
