Chapter 406 When Love Leads the Way

If Mark took the land, he would have to respect his wife’s wishes and hold back on bold development plans.
Their goal was never about maximizing profits.
Money meant little to either of them.
But love was priceless and irreplaceable.

Julian stood up and held out his hand. “Mr. Jinn, pleasure doing business with you.”
Mark had not thought highly of Julian at first.
The young man was sharp and unyielding. Doing business with him was never easy.
But that did not stop Mark from respecting him.
Even though he hated to give up the alley land, his wife always came first.
He shook Julian’s hand firmly, this time with genuine warmth. “Pleasure’s mine. Thank you, Mr. Sterling.”
The two men had lunch together, but the atmosphere remained formal.
The deal was done, but both carried themselves with quiet pride. Mark, nearly fifty, looked at Julian and quietly wished his own family had such an outstanding heir.
He had no children of his own, and the younger ones in his family were far from capable.
Mark asked casually, “May I ask which family your fiancée is from?”
“It might disappoint you,” Julian said calmly. “She’s not from any prominent family. She’s just the person i love.”
Mark nodded in understanding. “Then I wish you both a lifetime of happiness.”
“Thank you, sir.”
After they parted, Julian headed straight back to the hotel.
Quinn had finished eating and was lying on the bed, half-asleep.
As she drifted, someone lay down beside her.
His familiar scent wrapped around her safely.
She rolled over and nestled into Julian’s arms, murmuring softly. “You’re back..
Julian hummed in response and kissed her forehead. “Sleep. I’m here”
Quinn fell asleep quickly.

She had no idea Julian had just secured the entire area around their first-meet alley-at a loss for pure
sentiment.
Mark was also wealthy and would never have traded the alley if not for his wife’s health.
Culturally and historically, the alley was far more meaningful.
But both men had personal reasons to agree.
And so the deal was struck.
Sometimes business worked out that way-perfect timing, shared understanding, and heart.
Julian had not expected to reach such an agreement with Mark so quickly.
Before they separated, Mark said he would travel to Lakeshore City in a few days to sign the official
contract.
Julian and Quinn returned to Lakeshore City. Soon it would be time for Julian to bring her home to meet his parents.
Quinn tried to stay calm, but she could not help feeling nervous.
As the day neared, she could not focus on anything.
Even at night, when Julian kissed her, her mind wandered.
It frustrated Julian enough that he held her a little longer, until her thoughts were fully back with him.
The morning finally arrived. Quinn was jittery and distracted.
Julian watched her stare blankly at the closet and sighed. “We already picked the outfit, didn’t we?”
“I changed my mind,” Quinn said. “Isn’t this one too formal? Won’t I look too sharp and unapproachable?”
Julian frowned softly. “You said it made you look confident.”
“I think softer is better. What if your parents think I’m too tough?”
Julian pinched the bridge of his nose. “Baby, please don’t stress this much.”
“Don’t call me that in front of them!” Quinn nudged him. “Not when we’re at your parents’ home.”
Julian smiled and obeyed. “Alright.”
He pulled out another outfit. “Wear this?
“Too casual”
“This one?”
“That’s sportswear.”

“It’s not that big of a deal.” Julian said. He held up a matching set. “Wear this. It matches mine. Couple’s style.”
Quinn opened her mouth to protest, but Julian spoke firmly, “Listen to me. Stop overthinking”
He sat her down. “Just showing up will be the best gift they could ask for. My parents have been begging me to bring someone home for years.”
Quinn stayed quiet.
“You’re the person I’ve waited for my whole life,” Julian said gently. “Even if you were clumsy, they’d adore you.”
“I’m not clumsy.” Quinn huffed.
“Exactly. So they’ll love you even more.”
Quinn burst out laughing.
Julian held her close. “Calm down. You’re making me nervous too. I almost don’t want to take you home.”
“I’m okay.” Quinn leaned against him. “Sorry I’m overthinking this.”
“I know. You’re worried about your family,” Julian said quietly. “Can I tell my parents about what happened with the Lane family?”
