Chapter 422 Overwhelmed by Emotion

He badly wanted to walk in, hold her tightly, and cry his heart out. He had finally found his daughter.
After telling Quinn the truth, Julian had guessed she would be shocked. Yet seeing her staring blankly into space still made his heart ache.
He pulled her into his arms. “Quinn, don’t overthink. I’m here for you no matter what. Later… whether you want to recognize them, when you want to, or if you don’t want to at all, I’H respect your decision. Don’t worry, they won’t disturb you.”
Quinn said nothing, still lost in shock. She had actually found her birth parents.
If Mark had been looking for his daughter all these years, that meant her birth parents hadn’t abandoned her outside the orphanage on purpose. Could there be some misunderstanding behind it all?
The aftereffects of her concussion kicked in. Her head felt messy and started to hurt again.
Seeing her frown and press her temples, Julian knew she was in pain. “I’ll go get the doctor.”
The doctor came quickly and gave Quinn more medicine.
“She just needs plenty of rest. Concussions have many symptoms, so keep a close eye on her,” the doctor said.
As Julian walked the doctor out, he saw Mark standing at the ward door. He wanted to go in but didn’t dare, only peeking inside secretly.
Julian blocked the door with his tall frame. “Quinn needs to rest. You… go back first.”
Mark said, “I’ll go back and tell my wife… Can we see Quinn later?”
Julian replied, “We’ll talk about it later.”
Seeing Mark’s dejected look, Julian added, “She needs time to accept this. Besides, she’s not feeling well from the concussion. We’ll wait until she’s better.”
“Okay, okay. Let her rest more,” Mark mumbled.
He didn’t even know how he got back to the hotel.
Xenia was arranging flowers. She loved beautiful things, so Mark had fresh flowers delivered to her every day.
Noticing Mark’s pale face, she put down her things and walked over. “Did you finish your work? Why do you look so listless?”
They had planned to go to their villa today, but Mark said he had some business to handle. Now seeing him like this, Xenia couldn’t help worrying.
Mark pulled her to sit down, said nothing, and hugged her silently.

Xenia patted his back gently. “What’s wrong? Did something happen?”
She felt something was of Pushing him away, she saw his red, tearful eyes. Xenia was shocked.
“Don’t scare me. Why are you crying?”
Fiershed
In her memory, she had only seen Markery once-right after their daughter went missing. In her heart, he was a strong, invincible man. Why was he crying now? What on earth had happened?
Mark couldn’t say a word. Years of grievance, heartache, and guilt flooded his heart. He didn’t even know how to tell his wife.
Even though this was good news, he felt so sad. Why had it taken so long to find their daughter? Why had she suffered so much all these years?
He was overcome with sorrow.
“Xenia, my love, honey…” he whispered her name repeatedly.
Xenja felt his pain and hugged him again. “I’m here.”
“Honey,” Mark drew strength from her to calm down. “Honey, I found… I found our daughter.”
Xenia froze. She pushed him away, her eyes wide with disbelief. “What… what did you say?”
She thought she had misheard.
Mark knew how much she had hoped for this, and how much this news would affect her. He looked into her eyes and said it again. “Xenia, we found our daughter.”
Xenia stared at him, silent for a few seconds.
Just as Mark was about to speak again, Xenia’s legs went weak and she fainted.
Xenia was Mark’s emotional anchor, the only woman he had ever loved. If anything happened to her, he couldn’t go on living.
He rushed her to the hospital, feeling more panicked than ever before. He was too worried to think straight.
His bodyguards told him Xenia had only fainted from too much excitement and would be fine. But until he heard it from the doctor and saw her wake up, Mark couldn’t relax.
Fortunately, the doctor came out soon and said, “She’s awake now. She has a weak constitution, so avoid big emotional ups and downs.”
Mark thanked the doctor and walked into the ward.
When Xenia saw him, she tried to sit up.
“Honey, lie down.” Mark sat beside her and held her hand. “How are you feeling now? You scared me to death.”
