Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 196

“Of course not!” Camilla could only say, “I’m so, so sorry. Whatever you ask, I’ll agree to it!”

She was ready to face any consequence.

Lambert asked, “Are you sure you can agree to anything?”

“As long as it doesn’t cross any moral lines or break the law, and it’s something I’m capable of, I’ll agree,” Camilla said.

“Oh, you’re definitely capable of this,” Lambert replied. “My demand is that you’re not allowed to avoid me anymore.”

“I…”

For Camilla, the request wasn’t difficult on its own. But she rejected it from the bottom of her heart. She wanted to stay away from Lambert. She didn’t want to have anything to do with him ever again.

Lambert continued, “Don’t avoid me. First demand: move back in with Catheleen.”

Camilla bit her lip. “I’m sorry, I don’t think… I can do that.”

“You can’t?”

Lambert took a step forward.

Startled, Camilla instinctively took a step back.

“Look up at me,” Lambert commanded.

His long-held position of authority gave him an imposing and commanding presence.

Camilla couldn’t help but raise her eyes, looking at him timidly.

Lambert sighed silently.

“I was the one who was taken advantage of,” he said. “And now I’m just making one small request, and you can’t even agree to that? What’s the alternative? Are you going to let me touch you back?”

Of course not!

She had touched Lambert’s abs. Was he suggesting he should touch hers? Setting aside the fact that she didn’t have abs, even if she did, she could never accept that kind of intimate contact with him.

“So, which is it? Are you going to accept my request, or…” Lambert’s voice dropped lower, “…are you going to let me touch you back?”

Camilla’s ears burned and her cheeks flushed red. She gripped the strap of her backpack so tightly her knuckles turned white.

Camilla was startled. “Go where?”

“To see what’s going on with Paulina,” Lambert said. “Are you not going?”

“I’m going.”

Camilla was genuinely worried. She had originally planned to slip away and call Catheleen later. She never expected to be confronted by Lambert and agree to his terms.

Well, since it was all out in the open and she’d made a promise, she couldn’t hide anymore.

They walked toward the bar, one after the other. Knowing her aversion to physical contact, Lambert maintained a proper social distance from her.

Walking behind him, Camilla let out a sigh of relief. Even though Lambert said they could call it even, she had hugged him, touched him, and even kissed him… How could you just call that even?

They quickly entered the bar.

Catheleen spotted Lambert immediately, and Camilla behind him.

She waved frantically. “Cammie! You’re just in time, I need to ask you something!”
