Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 197

Camilla walked over to her and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Catheleen pointed. “It’s that man. He’s holding Paulina, saying Paulina hit him. We watched the security footage, and you were there too… what exactly happened?”

Due to the angle, the security camera hadn’t captured the man getting handsy with Camilla, but it had perfectly recorded the moment Paulina threw the punch.

The man, Nicol, was good friends with the bar owner. He had someone trick Paulina into coming here and was holding him, saying he was going to teach him a lesson.

Paulina knew these people were wealthy and influential and didn’t want to drag Camilla into it, so he hadn’t mentioned her name from the start.

And since he was drunk, his explanation was incoherent.

Because Paulina had hit the man for Camilla’s sake, but wouldn’t say so, it looked like he had assaulted someone for no reason.

It wasn’t until Catheleen arrived, watched the footage, and recognized Camilla. Even from a side profile, she knew it was her.

“He was harassing me, trying to get handsy, and Paulina helped me,” Camilla explained. “That’s why he hit him.”

Catheleen was instantly furious. “He was getting handsy with you? Why didn’t you tell me?”

“It’s fine, he didn’t touch me,” Camilla said. “That’s actually how Paulina and I met.”

When Faust came looking for someone, the bar owner naturally had to show him respect. But Nicol was a close friend, and he couldn’t just stand by while he got beaten up in his bar. Even with Faust here, he had to get an explanation.

But the moment Camilla arrived, Nicol’s case fell apart.

The bar owner quickly said, “Well, if that’s the case, then it’s Nicol’s fault. How about this? I’ll have Nicol apologize, and I’ll buy everyone a round of drinks…”

Catheleen cut him off impatiently. “Where’s Paulina? Bring him out now!”

The bar owner gave a nod, and someone immediately brought Paulina out. He was dressed in men’s clothing today—a simple white shirt and jeans—looking sharp and clean-cut.

“Paulina!”

Catheleen and Camilla both rushed over.

Once they were gone, Nicol was still complaining. “I was drunk, okay? But that girl was hot… Ouch!”

The bar owner slapped him across the face. “Are you blind or just brainless? From now on, if you see that woman, you walk the other way!”

“What’s the big deal?” Nicol was still defiant. “So she’s friends with Catheleen…”

“What do you know!” The bar owner kicked him. “Do you have any idea who Lambert is? For something this minor, he stood there the whole time backing her up! The look in his eyes when he heard you were getting handsy could kill!”

Nicol broke out in a cold sweat. “You mean…”

“So just keep your head down!”

Nicol’s family had some status, which was why he was so arrogant. “They’re not going to come after me, are they?”

“Probably not,” the bar owner said. “Go have dinner with Faust later, try to smooth things over. He’s more reasonable.”

Lambert had only made a brief appearance, but the story of him defending a woman began to spread. At that moment, they had no idea how the tale would be twisted.
