Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 205

Lambert stopped dead in his tracks. "Okay, I won't move. Don't be afraid."

He let out a silent sigh and placed the sketchbook gently on the desk.

"I won't look through it. You can put it away."

Without lingering, he turned and walked out of the room, putting as much distance between them as possible.

Camilla practically leaped to the desk, snatching the notebook and clutching it tightly against her chest.

Leaning against the wood, her legs felt weak.

Lambert definitely knew that the previous drawing was of him too.

But seeing her intense reaction, he didn't dare push the issue.

"Pack your things, I'll wait outside."

He hadn't stayed a second longer, immediately opening the door and stepping into the hall.

Camilla hugged the notebook, letting out a shaky breath.

If Lambert had truly wanted to see the drawings, he could have easily used his height advantage... no, the sheer difference in physical strength meant she wouldn't have stood a chance.

Yet, he let it go.

She felt like she had managed to preserve her last shred of dignity.

But had she really?

She had fought so desperately to hide it from him. With his sharp intuition, he had probably already guessed exactly what was on that page.

Her face flushed hot, then drained of color, as a cold sweat broke out across her skin.

She just wanted to stay away from him, but fate seemed determined to force them into these physically intimate situations.

Why was heaven torturing her like this?

Lambert waited in the hallway for over ten minutes before the door finally opened.

Camilla walked out, her head bowed, pulling her small suitcase behind her.

Lambert reached out. "I'll take that."

Camilla didn't try to be falsely polite.

But instead of handing it to him directly, she let go of the handle and stepped to the side, ensuring their hands wouldn't brush.

"Thank you," she murmured.

Lambert noticed her blatant avoidance but didn't push it. He grabbed the handle and walked ahead in silence.

As long as she was still married, his hands were tied. He couldn't say or do what he really wanted.
