Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 220

And then Adah would inevitably call and scream at her without even bothering to hear her side of the story.

Camilla accepted the call.

Barbara's voice exploded through the speaker, venomous and dripping with panic. "Did you tell Daniel White that I have a boyfriend?!"

Even though Barbara had managed to temporarily sweet-talk her way out of Daniel's suspicions, she was furious. She had been busy the last two days, but the second she had free time, she called Camilla to settle the score.

"Do you not have one? Did I lie?" Camilla knew exactly what her sister was trying to do. Barbara wanted to keep Daniel on the hook as a backup plan.

"What right do you have to discuss my business with Daniel?! What the hell is wrong with you?"

Camilla let out an exasperated sigh. "Is having a boyfriend some dark, shameful secret? If you really see me as your sister, then Daniel is married to me. Don't we have the right to know you're off the market?"

"It's my private life! You have no right to gossip about me!"

Camilla let out a dry, humorless laugh. "Really? Then do you remember high school? Do you remember spreading rumors to the entire school that I was sleeping with a delinquent? Did you have the 'right' to discuss my life back then?"

"That was different! You were a minor, I had a responsibility to supervise you!"

"Except I wasn't dating anyone," Camilla fired back, her voice dangerously calm. "You deliberately spread vicious lies. You destroyed my reputation over absolutely nothing. And now, you actually have a boyfriend, I tell the truth, and suddenly I'm the villain?"

"Are you seriously still holding a grudge over that?" Barbara scoffed. "I apologized to you, didn't I?"

"Yeah. After the entire faculty and student body were convinced I was trash, you gave me a half-assed apology in private at home. What good did that do? Everyone thought I was ruined, and no one was left to defend me."

Barbara had a long history of pulling stunts like that. She never got her hands dirty directly. She operated in the shadows, manipulating other girls to spread her venom. For the longest time, Camilla hadn't even known her own sister was the architect of her misery.

"Stop acting like you're taking the moral high ground!" Barbara shrieked. "Do you know how many times I've rejected him? It's not my fault he can't get over me! It's not my fault I'm out of your league!"

"Whatever you say." Camilla was done. "Once the divorce is finalized, his life is none of my business."

"Why are you being so stubborn, Camilla? Do you realize how wealthy Daniel is? What more do you want?! So he messed around a little, so what? All men make mistakes! Can't you just be a little more forgiving?"

"If that's all, I'm hanging up."

After ending the call, Camilla let out a quiet, mocking laugh. Thank God she had finally stopped expecting anything from Barbara, otherwise she'd still be getting stabbed in the back on a daily basis.

On the other end of the line, Barbara stared fiercely at her phone. Her eyes darkened as a calculated, vicious plan formed in her mind. She had made a decision.
