Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 253

She was a lightweight, and she had chugged her drinks far too quickly. Now, wrapped in the warm, comfortable interior of the SUV, she felt incredibly drowsy. However, the alcohol brought on a nagging headache; a sharp throbbing pulsed at her temples.

Without even opening her eyes fully, she lifted a hand to rub her head, letting out a soft groan.

Lambert had been watching her every move. Seeing her discomfort, he reached out and gently massaged the sides of her forehead with his long fingers.

Her skin was unusually warm from the liquor, and the slight coolness of his fingertips brought her an unconscious sense of relief.

But she quickly realized something was off, forcing her heavy eyelids open.

The first thing she saw was a blur of dark fabric. But before her vision could fully focus, her senses were hijacked by a familiar, intoxicating scent—crisp, clean, and unmistakably him.

Lambert?

Why did she smell Lambert?

Was she dreaming?

Her brain was a chaotic mess, entirely incapable of rational thought. If this was just a dream, why should she hold back?

She grabbed his wrist and unabashedly pulled his hand down, pressing his cool palm flat against her flushed cheek.

She tilted her face upward, instinctively nuzzling against him.

His palm was slightly warmer than his fingertips, which she didn't prefer, but she refused to let go. Everything about it—the touch, the scent—was exactly what she wanted.

More importantly... she had been dying to do this.

Lambert watched in silent awe. He had expected her to wake up and immediately push him away in disgust. Instead, she was acting like a clingy kitten, rubbing against his hand with pure affection.

When she was sober, she kept him at arm's length and snapped at him. Now that she was drunk, she was unbearably sweet.

Lambert didn't dare move a muscle. He might have been grumbling internally, but he was absolutely soaking it in. This kind of willing proximity was something he had fantasized about countless times. Now that his dream was coming true, he wasn't about to complain.

She had no idea that looking at a man like that was the fastest way to make him lose his mind.

Lambert swallowed hard.

He had lived twenty-eight years with monastic discipline, yet she made him unravel effortlessly. His traditionally cold demeanor matched his usually unbothered body, but every single time he touched her, she ignited a raging fire in his veins.

He knew it would only lead to frustration, but he couldn't stop himself from craving her. It was a torturous, addictive sweetness.

He tried to look away, shifting his gaze out the window, but he barely lasted three seconds before his eyes snapped back to her face.

When Camilla drank, she didn't black out. She retained every memory of what happened. But in the moment, her mind was floating in a thick fog, blurring the lines between reality and dreams.

Just like right now. She blinked up at him, their eyes locking. But the moment Lambert broke the connection, a look of profound betrayal crossed her features.

When he looked back, he found her staring at him with the most pitiful, heartbroken expression.
