Divorce Him, Then Dazzle novel Chapter 252

Catheleen reached for the door handle, but Lambert blocked her. "Take the other car."

"Hey!" Catheleen immediately protested, stamping her foot in frustration. "I told you—"

"I need to talk to her," Lambert cut in smoothly. "Get in the back."

"She's completely wasted! What could you possibly talk about?" Catheleen didn't buy it for a second. "You're not going to take advantage of—"

She trailed off, the implication hanging heavily in the air. Lambert shot her a silencing glare, and she instantly withered.

"You don't trust me?" he asked.

"It's not that I don't trust you, it's just... I think—"

Before she could finish her sentence, Lambert gave a subtle nod to the men behind her. Instantly, two bodyguards flanked Catheleen and efficiently guided her toward the trailing vehicle. She kicked and shouted, but it was completely useless.

Lambert slid into the backseat.

Camilla was slumped against the opposite door, looking incredibly uncomfortable. She was far too drunk to even attempt to find a better position. Lambert reached over and gently pulled her against him, letting her rest against his shoulder.

She was already fast asleep. The movement didn't wake her, though it stirred her slightly. Still uncomfortable, she squirmed, slid downward, and finally found a cozy spot to settle in.

Lambert's entire body went rigid.

She was lying with her head in his lap.

The driver had already raised the privacy partition, turning the back of the SUV into a completely secluded sanctuary. No one could see them.
