At this point, if it meant Lambert would finally back off and let her go, she felt she had no other choice. She convinced herself that once he satisfied his possessive streak and conquered her, he would naturally lose interest and move on.
As for what he intended to do to her and how far he planned to take it...
She was terrified and deeply ashamed, yet... she couldn't suppress the tiny flicker of anticipation. Ever since realizing her heart raced for him, the thought of his touch no longer repulsed her.
If they were destined to never be together, perhaps letting him do this would give her a fiercely guarded, secret memory to hold onto for the rest of her life.
"Why so quiet?" Lambert asked, breaking the silence. "No objections?"
Camilla felt incredibly guilty for the dark desires brewing in her own mind. Lambert had claimed he wasn't an honorable man, but from the moment they met, every action proved he was a gentleman with impeccable self-control.
On the yacht, she had thrown herself at him with zero restraint. Any other man—like Owen Gates, for example—would have ruthlessly taken advantage of the situation without a second thought. But Lambert had remained an absolute rock. She was already endlessly grateful for that.
Since then, she had gotten drunk twice and crossed every conceivable line with him. Yet, he still hadn't taken things too far.
Naturally, Camilla had no idea that just last night, Lambert had kissed her breathless in the front seat of his car until she was practically begging for air. Lacking that specific memory, she simply believed she was the absolute worst.
She was the one in the wrong. She was the disgraceful one.
She knew perfectly well they had no future. But if she could steal just one intimate memory with him...
Regardless of the outcome, she wanted it. Because right now, he wasn't engaged. If he were formally promised to Jeanette or anyone else, she would never cross that moral boundary. But for now, he was still single.
Refusing to meet his eyes, she turned her head away and whispered, "No objections."
If agreeing to this would make him give up his relentless pursuit, she was willing to endure it.
"Well, I have objections."
