"No!"
Camilla clutched the blanket tightly, refusing to let him move.
Lambert's hands rested near the edge of the blanket. He looked at her and said mildly, "That won't do. As your private caregiver, it's my duty to provide close, attentive care."
Camilla choked up, on the verge of tears. "Please don't do this..."
Seeing her genuine panic, Lambert finally relented. "Alright... if I don't help you put on your pants, you have to agree to let me take care of you."
Camilla nodded frantically, terrified he might change his mind. "I agree! I agree!"
"Are you going to go back on your word again?"
"No, I won't!"
"And how am I supposed to believe you?" A teasing glint appeared in Lambert's eyes. "You do have a track record, after all."
"I really won't!" Camilla raised her hand in a solemn vow. "If I lie, let me..."
Lambert immediately covered her mouth with his hand. "There's another condition."
Unable to speak, Camilla could only blink up at him.
Lambert felt a soft, irresistible tug at his heartstrings. He said, "You have to follow through on what you promised me before."
Confusion swirled in Camilla's eyes.
Lambert elaborated, "Don't avoid me. And finish the clothes you promised to make for me. Can you do that?"
Camilla hesitated.
Don't avoid him...
If she agreed, they would be right back where they started. Then what was the point of all the agony and torment she had put herself through recently?
"If you don't agree, I suppose I'll have to help you with your pants..."
"I agree! I agree!"
Camilla quickly pried his hand away, answering without a second thought.
Lambert almost laughed out loud. "Good. No taking it back."
Camilla was backed into a corner. No matter what, she absolutely refused to let Lambert see her lying there bare, exposed with a urinary catheter.
