Camilla closed her eyes, feeling as though she had been transported back to the first time she shared a bed with Catheleen.
Catheleen had also showered her with endless compliments, playfully copping a feel whenever she had the chance.
But honestly, as long as it wasn't Lambert, she could handle it.
Before dressing her, the caregiver wiped her down with a warm towel, making sure she was fresh before slipping her into a loose, comfortable hospital gown.
Camilla instantly felt a million times better.
Once she was done, the caregiver tactfully excused herself. "Just call me if you need help with the heavy lifting. For now, I'll let your boyfriend keep you company."
The moment she stepped out, Lambert walked in.
Camilla shot him a glare, still holding a grudge, and let out a soft huff of annoyance.
Lambert ignored her attitude. He walked over, stood at the foot of the bed, and reached under the blanket to feel her feet.
"They're a bit cold."
"They're not, they're not," Camilla protested, her anger evaporating into panic. "I'm not cold, really..."
But her protests fell on deaf ears. Lambert sat at the foot of the bed, untucked his tailored shirt, and firmly pressed her bare feet flat against his warm abdomen.
Truthfully, Camilla's feet were never warm, no matter the season.
It was especially bad in the winter. If she slept alone without the heat blasting, she would wake up in the middle of the night with freezing toes.
But human beings were naturally drawn to warmth.
The moment the soles of her feet made contact with his hot skin, a comfortable sigh almost escaped her lips.
It was so warm.
How could his skin run so hot?
Lambert simply sat there, holding both her feet flush against his taut stomach, carefully tucking the blanket around them to ensure no cold air slipped in.
"Didn't you always want to feel my abs?" Lambert looked at her with a devilish smile. "Consider your wish granted."
Camilla's entire face burned scarlet. She snapped in sheer embarrassment, "I did not..."
"Right, you didn't." Lambert kept a firm grip on her ankles to stop her from pulling away. "I wanted you to feel my abs. Is that better?"
